LEGO Ideas Sea Turtle Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Sea Turtle by LEGOverwatch is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The 1,744 piece build features a large sea turtle along with a stand and information plaque.

LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Express – Collectors’ Edition (76405) Officially Revealed

After a major mishap recently by LEGO, they have officially revealed the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Express – Collectors’ Edition (76405) earlier than intended. Releasing on August 31, the set has 5,129 pieces and will retail for $499.99. Along with the 1:32 scale train, the set also has a section of Platform 9 3/4 as well as 20 minifigures. In addition, a collectible ticket is also included with the set.

LEGO® Harry Potter Hogwarts Express™ – Collectors’ Edition (76405) is a spectacular build-and-display project for adult Harry Potter enthusiasts, which will enchant all who see it.

Authentically detailed inside and out
The engine features a detailed underside and a lever on the top that causes the train to rock with the motion of a steam train. A tender car carries the engine’s supply of coal. The passenger car comprises 3 compartments, each depicting a classic scene: when Harry, Ron and Hermione meet in the series’ first movie; when Professor Lupin saves Harry from the Dementor™ in the third movie; and when Luna saves Harry from Draco’s spell in the sixth movie. LEGO Ideas Working Log Flume – Fairground Water Coaster Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Working Log Flume – Fairground Water Coaster by Baron von Barron is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters in LEGO Ideas. The build is intended to be an addition the the current Fairground sets and it features a working log flume on a track.

LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition (76405) First Look

In a surprise twist, we now have a first look at the new LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition (76405). A Reddit user ordered the new LEGO Icons Lion Knights’ Castle (10305) and received the unannounced set by accident. There are a number of reports that the multiple people had the same issue over in Australia and New Zealand.

The set has 5,129 pieces and includes a whopping 20 minifigures as well. The Hogwarts Express is more larger scale and also has a sections of Platform 9 3/4.

There’s no word on the official reveal or release date but I would guess it’ll be really soon. Rumors has it priced at $499.99 with a September release. LEGO did give permission to post since LEGO did ship it out on accident.

LEGO Opens $500 Million Expansion at Monterrey, Mexico Factory

The LEGO Group has announced that have officially opened a 33,850 m² expansion at the Monterrey, Mexico factory. This is part of the $500 million investment for the location that will increase production capacity to meet growing demand in the Americas.

The expansion will includes new molding building which is set to open in 20204 and will have a 50% increase in production capacity. As a result, this will add another 1,000 jobs to the site as well. The investment is on top of the $1 billion that was put into the new factory in Virginia which was announced a few months ago.

The LEGO Group invests in the expansion of factory in Monterrey, Mexico

New warehouse, moulding hall and processing facility will increase site’s capacity to support long-term growth in Americas.

Monterrey, Mexico – August 5, 2022: The LEGO Group today officially opened a 33,850 m² expansion at its factory in Monterrey, part of a $US500 million investment in the site which will increase production capacity to meet growing, long-term demand in the Americas region and globally.

The expansion includes a fully automated high-bay warehouse and a building dedicated to assembling and decorating LEGO products which was completed 2022 The multi-year investment will also include a new moulding building which is set to open in late 2024 and will contribute to a 50% increase in production capacity.

An extra 1,000 jobs will be created to support the expanded site, taking the total number of employees to more than 6,000 by the end of next year.
