LEGO Ideas The Opera Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Opera by Jiwoo is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The 2,999 piece build features a modular opera house with two floors. The back is able to open up to reveal the interior of The Opera.

The project now joins The Forestmen Secret Inn, The Legendary Concorde, Wild West Mine, LEGO Koala, LEGO Toilet, Mini City Diorama: London with Underground Station!, Steampunk Airship, The Kit-Cat Clock, Tales of the Space Age, The Library, Santa’s Cottage, Mech Patrol, The Polar Express – 20th Anniversary, Boeing 747 Cockpit, Sherlock Holmes – 221B Baker Street, Adventure Box, Wuppertaler Schwebebahn/Wuppertal Suspension Railway, Hanging Flowers, and Polaroid OneStep SX-70 as the ones to reach the First 2022 Review Stage.

The LEGO Foundation Ready to Donate LEGO MRI Scanners to Hospitals

The LEGO Foundation has announced that it is now ready to donate 600 LEGO MRI Scanners to hospitals worldwide to help children cope with the uncertainty of having an MRI. Hospitals with radiology departments can sign up and local volunteers will help build it for use. Read the full press release below.

Radiology departments worldwide encouraged to apply

Billund, Denmark,23 February 2022 – The LEGO Foundation has announced it will donate 600 LEGO® MRI Scanners to hospitals worldwide to help children cope with the uncertainty of having a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan.

What started in 2015 as a passion project for LEGO employee Erik Ullerlund Staehr and Odense University Hospital, Denmark,is now being scaled and piloted with new training material for hospital staff. The team developed the sets as a way to help children navigate the often daunting and intimidating process of having an MRI scan. The sets are designed to help children better collaborate with clinicians and understand what the large and complex MRI machine is all about.

Erik Ullerlund Staehr, Chemical Technician at the LEGO Group said: “I’m extremely proud of this project and the positive impact it’s already had. I’ve seen first-hand how children have responded to these models; making them feel more relaxed and turning an often highly stressful experience into a positive, playful one. LEGO Ideas Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Polaroid OneStep SX-70 by Minibrick Productions is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The 538 piece build is based on the iconic camera that is almost to scale with the real life item.

The project now joins The Forestmen Secret Inn, The Legendary Concorde, Wild West Mine, LEGO Koala, LEGO Toilet, Mini City Diorama: London with Underground Station!, Steampunk Airship, The Kit-Cat Clock, Tales of the Space Age, The Library, Santa’s Cottage, Mech Patrol, The Polar Express – 20th Anniversary, Boeing 747 Cockpit, Sherlock Holmes – 221B Baker Street, Adventure Box, Wuppertaler Schwebebahn/Wuppertal Suspension Railway, and Hanging Flowers as the ones to reach the First 2022 Review Stage.

LEGO Double VIP Points Event February 24-28

It has been confirmed that there will be a double VIP points event on the LEGO Shop from February 24-28. There is much new products available during that time besides the pre-order items or some of the recent exclusives for January and February. This is for the UK and the EU.

Update: I’ve been told that there will be No double VIP event this week. It is still rumored that there will be one happening in March along with a new promo set.

Update 2: LEGO has sent out an email stating that there will be double points from March 12-14.

LEGO Ideas Hanging Flowers Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Hanging Flowers project by Ralf Ranghaal is the latest one to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. From afar, you can’t really tell that they are made out of LEGO but they do make some great decorative pieces.
