LEGO Star Wars 501st Legion Clone Troopers & AAT Amazon Sale – November 2020

If you’re looking for a great deal on fairly newish set, Amazon currently has the LEGO Star Wars 501st Legion Clone Troopers (75280) for only $24. This is 49% off the retail price and is a great price if you’re army building. In addition, the Armored Assault Tank (75283) is 20% off and is at $31.99.

Correction: The retail price of the 501st Legion Clone Troopers is actually $29.99 which makes it only 20% off. I’m not sure why Amazon has the list price as $46.95.

LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (10274) Officially Announced

LEGO has officially announced their next direct-to-consumer set with the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (10274). The vehicle is based on the new version that is in the upcoming Ghostbusters: Afterlife which can be seen in the trailer. The Ecto-1 has 2,352 pieces and will retail for $199.99 and it will be available in a few weeks starting on November 15. Although the Ecto-1 is based on the new film, you can probably not use some of the rust stickers and have it look like the version in the original 1984 film. Check out more images of the set as well as the press release below.

Light Brick Studio Branches Out from LEGO Ventures

LEGO has been investing in a lot of gaming lately and it bodes well for the community. Last week, they announced that they are working with Unity for a new LEGO Microgame which you can create your own game using virtual bricks. Yesterday, VentureBeat reported that a game development studio called Light Brick Studio is now a independent company and is also supported by LEGO Ventures.

Light Brick Studio previously created Builder’s Journey for Apple Arcade and was released back in December 2019. The studio is now free to create to create games for LEGO as well as for any external partners they choose. This gives Light Brick Studio a lot leeway on what they are able to work on. I’m interested in seeing what will come of this and if they will expand beyond Apple Arcade since not many people are on it.
