LEGO Black Friday 2018 Confirmed Promotion Details

LEGO Black Friday 2018

A few days, I reported on some rumored Black Friday 2018 promotions at LEGO and there is now confirmation of these promotions. First, there is the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Gift Box (40292) with purchases of $99 or more. This promo will run in store and online from November 23-26. Next is the LEGO Ninjago Bricktober 2018 (5005257) with purchases of $50 or more. This promotion is only available in stores on November 23. I’m sure this will draw some ire from Ninjago fans who don’t have a LEGO Store near them.

Some other Black Friday LEGO promotions include select sale items at LEGO Stores on November 23. In addition, there’s also items that are 30% off at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home from November 23-26. Cyber Monday sales on November 26 will have items 20% off. Lastly, if your store still has the LEGO Creator Detective’s Office (10246) still in stock, you can get it for 20% off from November 23-26.

Thanks to Ryan for tweeting in the images from the new LEGO Black Friday flyer.

LEGO Build to Give Charity Campaign

LEGO Build to Give

This holiday season LEGO will be running a new campaign called Build to Give to help donate LEGO sets to children in need. From now until December 9, use your LEGO bricks at home or at a LEGO Brand Store to build an ornament and share on social media using the hashtag #BuildToGive. For every post shared, LEGO will donate one LEGO set to charity in hopes of reaching 500,000 children around the world. Here’s a list of charity partners that LEGO is working with across the globe including Fairy Bricks in the UK and Toys for Tots here in the US.

LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit Coming to NBC

LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit

Last month, Universal announced their plans for the Jurassic World franchise which included an animated LEGO Jurassic World short and today we have details of it and it is called LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit. It is a two-part special that will be a prequel to the 2015 Jurassic World and it will be airing on NBC November 29 at 8pm EST/PST. It will also be streamable the next morning on NBC.com. There will also be a DVD with exclusive content that will be coming out on January 15, 2019. I believe this is the first time that LEGO will have an animated short on one of the major TV stations and not on Cartoon Network like before. Check out the trailer and the press release below.

LEGO Ideas Celebrates 10 Years

LEGO Ideas 10 Years

Today LEGO celebrates an amazing ten years of LEGO Ideas as a crowdsourcing platform for fans. It all started back in 2008 as LEGO CUUSOO during the beta phase and it eventually changed to LEGO Ideas which we now have today. The first set made for CUUSOO was the Shinkai 6500 Submarine (21100) and the first one under the LEGO Ideas name was the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108). There now has been 23 sets that have been officially released so far and it doesn’t look like it will be stopping any time soon. Which LEGO Ideas set is your favorite?
