LEGO Creator Expert Palace Cinema (10232) Revealed

LEGO Creator Expert Palace Cinema (10232)

News from Eurobricks member GRogall is there will be a new modular building to be released in 2013, the LEGO Creator Expert Palace Cinema (10232). It is a corner building that looks very much like the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA. From the [email protected] sales image, there are at least six minifigures and comes with a convertible limousine as well. The majority of the cinema is created with light brown and tan pieces and the roof is made from red tiles. The “Palace Cinema” sign will be made from 1×1 blue and white tiles while the lights around the sign will be created from 1×1 yellow round tiles. Also from what we can see, there are three posters but not sure if they’re printed or stickered pieces. There’s no details of the piece count, pricing, or estimated release dates but modular building fans will be excited to add this to their collection. What are your thoughts of the new Palace Cinema?

Now may be your chance to get this great set at a discounted price before it gets hit with the “retiring soon” label by LEGO. The Fire Brigade was released in September 2009 so I’m predicting it might not have much more shelf life in the upcoming months.

LEGO Legends of Chima Eagles' Castle (70011)

Your Creative Friends are back with another review for the new LEGO Legends of Chima line. Today, they are reviewing the Eagles’ Castle (70011). This is part of the Speedorz sub-theme where vehicles are powered by ripcords. The set contains 369 pieces and retails for $39.99, a $0.11/piece ratio. The box contains two instruction booklets and two packs of cards with five cards per pack. There are three minifigures in the set, Ewald leader of the Eagle tribe, Worriz, and Lennox. Check out more details of the set in YCF’s video below.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Advent Calendar (9509) Round Up

0

The 2012 Star Wars Advent Calendar (9509) is now completed and there is a mixed reaction on this set. There are a few hits and a few misses as well with the calendar. With less pieces used than 2011 calendar, will this set hold up to the last year’s model?

Hits

There are a few vehicles that I thought were hits including the Star Destroyer from Day 4 and the Naboo Starfighter from Day 7. For the minifigures, I thought that the Snowman R2-D2 on Day 23 and the Santa Darth Maul in the final day were the best overall minifigures in the set.

Misses

There are also misses with the 2012 Advent Calendar such as the MTT from Day 5 and the Separatist Shuttle in Day 19. I just didn’t think that LEGO captured the representation of the vehicles that well. All the minifigure were decent except for the obligatory addition of the Security Battle Droid from Day 6.

Results

Overall, the 2012 Star Wars Advent Calendar is a decent set. It comes in at 236 pieces, much less than the amount of 266 pieces the 2011 version had so the quality isn’t as up to par as last year. The set retails for $49.99 but it’s been on sale for a while now. Look for it to be on discount in stores now that Christmas has passed. Now is time to wait for next year’s advent calendar.
