LEGO Ideas Build Your Nostalgia Winners Announcement Delayed Again

The LEGO Ideas Build Your Nostalgia building contest winners were supposed to be announced today but due to unknown circumstances, the announcement has been delayed again.

This time, the announcements for The Opening Act and The Next Chapter have been split up to their own dates. The Opening Act will be announced in two weeks on June 25 while The Next Chapter has been pushed back two months all the way to August 13.

Again there was no reason why everything was delayed except it was stated that the LEGO Ideas team needs more time before announcing the winners on their respective dates. The sets will be brand new IPs so each one probably deserves their own limelight.

Deloitte Employees Can Now Buy LEGO Using Company Money to Boost Well Being

As we know by now, LEGO has been used as a hobby to relieve stress and boosting morale. Professional service network Deloitte has recently updated their benefits to include LEGO. The company offers its employees a $1,000 well-being subsidy to spend on things to improve their life and their updated policy in June has added LEGO to the list.

Pretty much all employees that are not interns, contractors, or employees that are on leave are eligible to buy up to $1,000 on LEGO on the company’s dime, if they so choose. LEGO’s most expensive set is still the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) coming in at $850 and Deloitte employees can now get it pretty much for free. It’ll be cool to see other companies adopt something for employees even if it’s not $1,000.

BrickLink Designer Program Series 5 Production Runs Revealed

The BrickLink Designer Program Series 5 pre-orders went live yesterday and BrickLink did a new thing with this series by making more sets available for fans. They didn’t say how many of each set was the maximum number produced but a reader over on our Reddit page yesterday was able to figure it out. If you look at the source code for each of the sets, you can see the code of the maximum number of sets that will be produced.

Adventure in Transylvania had the highest “adjustment” as the it had a maximum of 40,000 sets but was later bumped up to 50,000. The Thieves of Tortuga started of with 30,000 sets but was later adjusted to 40,000. Mushroom Village and Popcorn Wagon were at 34,000 but it has since been decreased back to 30,000. The Antique Shop didn’t change from the original 30,000. There’s still a possibility that the latter three could get bumped up but we shall see.

This is very interesting as it seems that LEGO/BrickLink is trying to predict how popular each set is and either the devs are manually adjusting the numbers or there’s some code that automatically changes them according to how popular a set is.

As of this post, all of the sets have been funded with Adventure in Transylvania being the closest to selling out at about 90%. Popcorn Wagon is next with about 80% of the stock depleted. The Thieves of Tortuga follows with about 75%.
