LEGO Ideas Italian Riviera Achieves 10,000 Supporters

Italian Riviera by LEGOParadise is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project has been on LEGO Ideas for over a year and it’s sort of a Bad Luck Brian situation here as LEGO has just announced that a similar project has passed the review stage and will be made into a set so this one will most certainly be rejected.

AFOL Community Integration Manager Jan Beyer Leaves The LEGO Group

It’s a sad day in the LEGO world as longtime AFOL Community Integration Manager Jan Beyer has announced that he left the company. Some of you may have met Jan at various LEGO conventions throughout the years and he was an integral part in helping grow the AFOL community whether it be working with LUGs or just answering questions from fans.

Jan will now be working with LEGO Certified Professional Caspar Bennedsen from Brick Works as a Development Manager. Although I haven’t personally met Jan, I wish him the best in his new position. He’ll still be around at LEGO conventions so you’ll still see him as a regular fan.

LEGO San Diego Comic Con 2024 Recap

San Diego Comic Con 2024 is now over and I finally have some time to recap the LEGO happenings during the event. As we saw in the preview post, the LEGO Booth this year was space themed with them showcasing many of the newer LEGO space sets for various themes.

They also showcased some upcoming sets such as the LEGO The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree (77092) the newly announced LEGO Super Mario World Mario & Yoshi (71438) and LEGO Dungeons & Dragons Collectible Minifigures (71047).

In terms of exclusives, fans took part in a building a spaceship to put on the wall. In return they could get a fabric sticker patch featuring the white classic space minifigure.

In addition, there was also the LEGO Space Explorer’s Challenge where you have to take part in various missions during SDCC for a chance to win a prize pack consisting of some LEGO Marvel comics, some posters given out there, the gold LEGO Masters Keychain, the LEGO Fortnite Cuddle Team Leader minifigure, as well as the white LEGO Masters minifigure which you could say was the main LEGO chase this year. The prize pack was given out to 20 people each day so there was 80 total packs. I’ve been told there were only 135 of these minifigures made, 80 to the prize packs and 55 for the LEGO Masters signings.

This drops the price down to $95.99 for the 1,045 piece set. It features a three story building that takes the riders to the top to the ramp as well as wall climbing on the side wall.

Amazon has recently put the LEGO City Apartment Building (60365) on sale for 20% off which is the first time it has been on sale on the site. LEGO Booth Preview at San Diego Comic Con 2024

Preview Night at San Diego Comic Con 2024 is now open and we finally get to see what the LEGO Booth looks like there and, of course following this year’s theme, it is Space themed.

The middle of Booth #2829 has the Space Station 8R1CK5 which showcases a lot of the space sets for this year from various themes. There’s also a life-sized astronaut build that people can take pictures with.

There’s an interactive experience that fans can take a part of. You can build their own LEGO rocket and send their craft into space in front of a LED screen backdrop and after you’ve done that, you can get an exclusive embroidered mission patch.
