LEGO at the 2013 London Toy Fair

Today in Kensington, London, the 2013 London Toy Fair kicked off. LEGO has a big presence there showing off the upcoming sets from a wide variety of themes. Our friends at Brick Fanatics made the rounds today and has given a list of sets that were on display. Unfortunately, photography was not allowed but so we have to wait a little longer to see what the new sets look like. It’s also nice to see the pricing we we can gauge how big the sets are without actually seeing images at this time.

Super Heroes – Nice to know what minifigures are included in the sets such as the War Machine we saw earlier.

DC Universe Metropolis Showdown (76002) – £11.99 – Superman, General Zod
DC Universe Superman Battle of Smallville (76003) – £39.99 – Includes Superman, Faora, Colonel Hardy, General Zod, and 1 unknown minfigure
Marvel Universe Iron Man Extremis Sea Port Battle (76006) – £19.99 – Iron Man, War Machine, and Aldrich Killian minifigures

LEGO Star Wars The Yoda Chronicles Begins

Today, the LEGO Star Wars The Yoda Chronicles released their first episode on the Star Wars minisite. It begins by showing Yoda, Pong Krell, and Ahsoka Tano fighting off a Droid ambush. They are then saved by an AT-RT and the Z-95 Headhunter. At the end, it shows an Umbaran MHC arriving. Will it be a friend or a foe? The short video does not have any voicing as of yet but that might change in later episodes. So far it seems to be a promotion of the latest Star Wars sets more than anything. Let’s hope there’s more to The Yoda Chronicles than what we saw.

LEGO Star Wars Rancor Pit (75005) Review

LEGO first revealed the Star Wars Rancor Pit (75005) at San Diego Comic Con last summer. After building and reviewing Jabba’s Palace, the set felt incomplete without the Rancor Pit under it. Early this year, LEGO released the Pit in the first wave of 2013. The set contains 380 pieces and retails for $59.99, which comes to about $0.16/piece. The box contains one instruction booklet, four numbered bags, and two unnumbered bags.
