2025 was a pretty big year for LEGO as there were 800 different products released. I haven’t done it in a few years but these are my top 5 sets for 2025 and my reasoning for it. The original list was about 10 sets and it was extremely hard to get it down to only 5. Some of the factors that went into my personal rankings are fandom, nostalgia, and pricing. Note that none of these sets were given by LEGO for review. I’ll also probably do a top 5 gift with purchase set list as well so stay tuned for that.
5. LEGO Marvel Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock Subway Train Scene (76321) – $54.99
It’s been 21 years since we’ve gotten a Spider-Man 2 set and the LEGO Marvel Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock Subway Train Scene (76321) was a no-brainer for me. Although it’s small, it captures one of the more iconic scenes from the movie.

4. LEGO Disney Wall-E & EVE (43279) – $69.99
Another nostalgic set has been remade this year with Wall-E & EVE (43279). It’s been a whole decade between the original LEGO Ideas set and this new one is perfect for fans that didn’t get the old one or for those new to LEGO. For $20 more, there are 134 more pieces and you also get EVE and M-O.

3. TIE: The Going Merry Pirate Ship (75639) & The Baratie Floating Restaurant (75640) – $139.99/$329.99
Never would I thought that the worlds of LEGO and One Piece would collide but in August, LEGO released a few sets based on the Netflix live-action series. Even though the show isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, the sets do capture the characters and settings fairly well. Although I did get every sets, the two largest ones stand out the most for me as you can’t go wrong with another pirate ship and were Luffy meets Sanji and Dracule Mihawk for the first time.

2. LEGO Icons Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D (10356) – $399.99
Another set that I did not see coming was the Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D (10356). We wouldn’t have ever guess that LEGO would be getting the Star Trek license as it has been with MEGA then BlueBrixx for years. I still remember seeing the Mega Bloks version at Toys R Us years ago and wondered what would the LEGO version be like. Fast forward to last month where we finally got our hands on it. The set does convey the shape of the ship fairly well and it does have a good selection of characters. One of the main complaints is that there’s really no interiors or even the Bridge and given the size of the saucer, it’s more of a whole display piece instead of a playset.
1. LEGO Super Mario Game Boy (72046) – $59.99
I’ve had countless hours of play on the original Game Boy which I still have and the nostalgia feel of the LEGO version was over 9,000 for me. The set is a near 1:1 scale and also includes Game Paks of Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. The addition of Tetris would’ve been perfect but I guess LEGO couldn’t get the license for it.

Honorable Mention: LEGO Ideas Minifigure Vending Machine (21358) – $179.99
The Minifigure Vending Machine (21358) is just a fun set that has a functional build and includes an unofficial series of Collectible Minifigures that reference characters from classic themes like Space, Fabuland, Castle, Pirates, and Paradisa. Given that you can exchange the minifigures with other ones makes it much more fun and random.
