If you missed The LEGO Movie building event at Toys R Us stores back in February, then you’re in luck. They are having the same event on Saturday, April 12th from 12-2pm. The event will be building Emmet’s Car which is the same as before. Who doesn’t like free LEGO anyways but make sure you get there at least 30 minutes before the event starts because I guarantee there will be a line going for it.
We have already done a review on the car and you can download the instructions for it here.

How do these events work? I feel a little embarrassed if there’s a bunch of parents with little kids waiting in line next to adult collectors. :/
Adults are allowed to come, anyone is actually. You’ll get strange looks from people, but you’ll still be allowed to participate. I’m going with 3 people, but they don’t want to go because of the car, so I guess I’ll have 3 of Emmet’s car! Yay!
Thanks. I’ll drag my partner along so I won’t look so creepy (because two adult men waiting for free Legos is less creepy?)
What is the “event”? Do we have to sit there and build the thing, or can we get the polybag and run?
Nothing to be embarrassed about. I’m 31 and I stood there waiting in line full of parents and children.
For us, they separated all the pieces into trays and kids go and grab the necessary pieces. You can either build it there or just take the pieces and leave.
Gotcha. Thanks!
We got there a little after noon and the line was short. It was a pleasant experience overall. We talked with some old ladies in line. We picked up the pieces and then did some shopping. It was nice!
