LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon Being Released in Future?

Over on the Bricklink forums, there is a discussion that LEGO is planning a re-release of the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series Millennium Falcon (10179) at end of this year or early next year. The originator of the thread states someone “very reliable” from Denmark emailed them about the news. There’s no details if the re-release is the same as the previous model or a new design. These are rumors but it’s something to keep an eye on.

As we all know, the UCS Millennium Falcon is a highly sought item from the LEGO Star Wars line and are many collectors’ white whale item. They are currently going for a couple of thousand dollars on the secondary market and people have also resorted to buying the parts separately to build their own.

Again, these are all rumors but we’ll stay on top of it. More details as they come.

The original was limited too, right? Like 10,000 or something? Honestly, I think there are more people trying to piece them together than there were copies parted out by sellers.

    • I’m not sure of the production run for it since I have back to LEGO years after it was released. I don’t think I’ve seen it stated anywhere. I agree I see a lot of people buying parts separate to make one.

Yes me is one such person trying to build the falcon in separate parts. To seen a box brand new from amazon seller that is currently for sale for £3,000 for that price i can buy a very good second hand car! From what i go so far it is possble to build the falcon if you willing to buy some of bits that where unique to the bird. The worse offenders for price is the rear engine grill, the colour grey was only made for that kit and at present dealers are selling them for around $98+ each and you need two of them. Unless of course you go down the different route and sub it for a different colour.

As someone with a NISB UCS Falcon (Limited first 5K one to boot) who was planning to sell it 2 years from now to partially fund a down payment on my first home, this would be very bad.
