LEGO Legends of Chima Returns to Cartoon Network Tonight

The long-awaited return of the LEGO Legends of Chima animated series makes it’s return to Cartoon Network tonight at 8/7c. It’s been a while since we’ve mentioned the TV show because there wasn’t anything to report on it until recently. A trailer of the return of Chima aired during the LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles back in May and Cartoon Network will be “premiering” it again starting today and will now have weekly episodes. According to TV Guide’s schedule for tonight, my suspicions were confirmed that CN will be re-airing the first three episodes back-to-back-to-back and will have brand new episodes starting next week. So if you haven’t seen any of the Chima episodes yet or want to rewatch them, tonight’s the perfect opportunity.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Video Game Box Art

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Video Game Box Art

The box art for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game has been revealed and I must say, it’s a pretty darn good looking cover. It shows a few of super heroes from the Marvel Universe including Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, the Hulk, Spider-man, Human Torch, Thor, Fantastic Four, the Thing, Black Widow. If you look closely at the upper right corner, you can also see the Silver Surfer which we haven’t heard much about yet. If you pre-order from Walmarticon, you’ll get the exclusive Iron Patriot minifigure (30168) for free as a bonus.

In other Marvel news, you will be able to play LEGO Marvel Super Heroes during San Diego Comic Con 2013. The games will be set up all four days at the Marvel booth (#2329), the LEGO booth (#2829), and at the Xbox Gaming Lounge at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. If that’s not enough LEGO Marvel for you, on Saturday at 12:30pm in Room 6A, there will be a panel discussing the game in more detail and Marvel is hinting there might be “something special” for you if you come to the panel dressed in a Marvel costume.

Man Refused From LEGOLAND Discovery Center

A couple of days ago, I read an article on CTVNews.ca that a man from Windsor, Ontario was turned away from a LEGOLAND Discovery Center after driving 3 hours to Toronto because he didn’t have a child with him. John St-Onge is a 63 year old AFOL who was excited to that there was a location close to home since he has health problems and can’t travel that far. When he found out there was a Discover Center in Toronto, he planned the trip with his daughter only to be refused at the entrance to the park because he didn’t have a child accompanying them.

Apparently there’s a relatively obscure rule that was posted on the website but nobody thought to look at it since they were already paying for the admission tickets. Needless to say, John was devastated that his dream of visiting a LEGOLAND attraction would be crushed by what I think is a pretty stupid rule by LEGOLAND Discovery Centers ran by Merlin Entertainments. Although LEGOLAND does have an adults-only night once a month, it doesn’t take away from the fact that an ill man went out of his way to buy a ticket and drive 3 hours only to be refused at the entrance. They state that the rule was in place “to protect the families and children that visit.” I think it’s just a rule for Merlin to make more money since parents most likely won’t be leaving kids there by themselves and they are pretty much obligated to attend with … Continue

Our buddies over at YourCreativeFriends is reporting that The Red Clay Consolidated School District in Wilmington, DE will be attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the tallest LEGO tower. The current record stands at 106 ft 7 in and was constructed in Prague, Czech Republic last year. All the schools in the district will be building a section of the tower and are currently 2/3 of the way there. The district is looking for donations of LEGO bricks to help with the construction. The assembly of the tower itself will be on August 19th at Dickinson High School and the people from Guinness will be onsite on August 20th to certify the world record. LEGO Master Builder Academy Invention Designer (20215) Kit 10 – Time Machine Review

In April, it was revealed that LEGO would be releasing Level 4 of the Master Builder Academy (MBA) called Invention Designer (20215). From the initial images, the set would be based on a steampunk design. The Invention Designer set contains 675 pieces and retails for $79.99 which is about $0.12/piece. The contents of the set include three high-quality and very in-depth instruction booklets, three numbered bags, one unnumbered bag, and a black tool belt – 17M. Each book corresponds to each bag and will let you build from a particular theme. For Kit 10, you will be building a Time Machine and other springboard models using the same pieces. The book itself gives you a back story of steampunk and various building techniques that you may or may not already know about. LEGO Designer Mark Stafford takes you through the various builds that are available with the Time Machine theme.
