LEGO Ultra Agents Infearno Interception (70162) Review

The new LEGO Ultra Agent sets are now available in stores and the one that really stood out for me was the Infearno Interception (70162). The set contains 313 pieces and retails for $29.99 for a $0.10/piece ratio. The box contains two numbered bags, an instruction booklet, and a small sticker sheet. With the Ultra Agents sets, LEGO is also promoting the FREE interactive story app on Google Play (Review).

RADiUS-TWC Acquires Rights to Beyond the Brick: A LEGO Brickumentary

Deadline is reporting that RADiUS-TWC has acquired worldwide rights, excluding France, Germany, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and Brazil, to the first official feature-length documentary about the world of LEGO, Beyond the Brick: A LEGO Brickumentary. The film recently premiered last month at the Tribeca Film Festival with Daniel Junge and Kief Davidson directing and Jason Bateman narrating. RADiUS co-presidents Tom Quinn and Jason Janego notes, “We’ve been looking for a film that families can enjoy together, and BEYOND THE BRICK surpasses all of those expectations. The movie is an amazing ride and will appeal to Lego fans around the world.”

Beyond the Brick features a number of builders in the LEGO community including Alice Finch and her son, Thorin, who is seen in the first scene of the movie in their LEGO room. The film focuses on the impact of LEGO and the fan community, both kids and AFOLs, who share their love of the brick.

LEGO movies have been a hot commodity in recent months with The LEGO Movie grossing $461 million worldwide and with a sequel planned for May 2017. There’s also a report that a LEGO Ninjago movie will make its theatrical premiere in September 2016. It’ll be cool to finally be able to see Beyond the Brick: A LEGO Brickumentary in theaters in the near future.

LEGO Legends of Chima Summer 2014 Ultrabuild Sets Not Available in North America

LEGO Legends of Chima Ultrabuild CHI Laval (70206)

I haven’t been following the LEGO Legends of Chima Ultrabuild sets since the official images were found last month but there is some news that people may not be happy about. BZPower reported earlier this month that the summer 2014 wave of the Ultrabuild/Constraction sets will not be released in North America. Andrew notes that the information came directly from LEGO so there’s no questioning that this piece of news is not a rumor. I know there are people in North America who are in this niche group and love to build these sets as well as Constraction MOcs and this is obviously devastating news to hear.

LEGO hasn’t given an explanation that I know about of why the Chima Ultrabuilds would not be sold over here but I speculate that poor sales of the previous Ultrabuilds may have been a factor. It’s a shame that people who want them here in the US have to purchase them from overseas and whatnot because the summer wave ones actually looked pretty cool. If you want a chance to win one of the sets, BZPower has been reviewing them and are doing giveaways for them. What are your thoughts on this revelation?

LEGO Ultra Agents Google Play App Review

LEGO Ultra Agents App

The new LEGO Ultra Agents sets are now available and LEGO is also promoting the free app along with the sets. The app has six different missions to complete, one for each of the Super Villains of the theme: Adam Acid, Tremor, Infearno, Toxikita, Psyclone, and Terabyte.

Each mission or episode consists of a comic that you read as well as interact with at certain scenes whenever a dropbox shows up on the upper-right hand side of the screen. Depending on the situation, you have three different tools you can use to figure out clues: x-ray, analyzer, and telephoto. If you use the correct tool, the beeping will get faster and faster. There are six clues to uncover for each comic and if you get all of them, you can unlock instructions for a mini-build using the corresponding set, if you have the set.

Also with each episode, there is a game that you can play or skip if you like. Complete the game perfectly and you can get three stars. An object of three of the games is to avoid obstacles while chasing down the villain. For Episode 2: Tremor Takedown, you have to shoot at Tremor three times in three different areas before time runs out. For the other two episodes, you have to correctly press the direction to match the arrow given. All the games aren’t too difficult and you can easily get three stars for every episode.

I’ve completed every episode to the fullest and it may seem there will be more … Continue

Will the LEGO Ecto-1 Have the Curiosity Mars Rover Effect?

LEGO CUUSOO Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover (21104)

If you’ve been looking to get your hands on the LEGO CUUSOO/Ideas NASA Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover from Shop@Home, you are most likely out of luck. The set has been completely sold out for a few months now and will not be sold again. There were times when the set would be up for purchase again but they would be quickly sold out in a few hours. It looks like the secondary market will be your best chance to get it such as eBay, Amazon, or BrickLink.

As an eBay Affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

This brings me to the latest LEGO Ideas product that will be hitting the shelves in a few days, the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108). Seeing that Ghostbusters is a more well known entity than the Mars Curiosity Rover, it will probably sell out and go temporarily out of stock when it becomes available on June 1st. LEGO Brand Stores will also be selling them on that day, at least mine will, so you may be able to snag one there as well. Normal LEGO sets usually have about a two year shelf life but some sets are very exclusive with a limited production run such as the Rover and 4×4 Crawler Exclusive Edition (41999). To fans of both LEGO and Ghostbusters, many people will probably purchase multiple sets, one to build and one to save. Others such as investors and resellers will most likely get multiples as well for their means. Does the … Continue

Preview of LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Suits

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

LEGO’s Facebook Page has uploaded the image above of what suits you may be able to find in the LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham video game. The image shows Batman’s five costumes: his current one, the Scuba suit from The Penguin Face Off (76010), the Arctic suit from Arctic Batman vs Mr. Freeze: Aquaman on Ice (76000), the Zur-En-Arrh version, and the Space one as seen in the teaser trailer.

If you read Everybody Plays yesterday, there were details on how you would upgrade Batman’s suits. Philip Ring, Executive Producer of LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, mentioned that you can get different suits towards the end of the game as well as being able to purchase them with the studs you collect. Philip also mentioned that they have thought of upgrading each of the suits individually with different functionalities. You can read more by following the link above.

As mentioned in the press release yesterday, there will be more than 150 unique characters from the DC Comics universe so other characters will most likely have different variations of outfits such as Robin’s Illumination suit.
