Deadline is reporting that RADiUS-TWC has acquired worldwide rights, excluding France, Germany, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and Brazil, to the first official feature-length documentary about the world of LEGO, Beyond the Brick: A LEGO Brickumentary. The film recently premiered last month at the Tribeca Film Festival with Daniel Junge and Kief Davidson directing and Jason Bateman narrating. RADiUS co-presidents Tom Quinn and Jason Janego notes, “We’ve been looking for a film that families can enjoy together, and BEYOND THE BRICK surpasses all of those expectations. The movie is an amazing ride and will appeal to Lego fans around the world.”

Beyond the Brick features a number of builders in the LEGO community including Alice Finch and her son, Thorin, who is seen in the first scene of the movie in their LEGO room. The film focuses on the impact of LEGO and the fan community, both kids and AFOLs, who share their love of the brick.

LEGO movies have been a hot commodity in recent months with The LEGO Movie grossing $461 million worldwide and with a sequel planned for May 2017. There’s also a report that a LEGO Ninjago movie will make its theatrical premiere in September 2016. It’ll be cool to finally be able to see Beyond the Brick: A LEGO Brickumentary in theaters in the near future.
