LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Winter 2016 Rumored Set Details

Eurobricks super-sleuth CM4Sci has reported on a couple of rumored

Eurobricks super-sleuth CM4Sci has reported on a couple of rumored LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes sets for 2016. Remember last year at SDCC where LEGO released an exclusive Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile? Well it looks like we’ll be getting a Classic TV Series Batcave (76052) to go along with it next year. There’s no word on whether there will be a Batmobile included with the set or not.

CM4Sci has also given details on another set called the Gotham City Cycle Chase (76053). From the looks of it, it sounds like there will be multiple vehicles associated with this set. Stay tuned as more details of next year’s set begin to emerge for various themes.

    So… Much… Batman…
Honestly, we have had a little too many Batman sets. Hundreds of characters introduced in LEGO Batman 3 and we have only done sets with about a dozen of them. And Batman was in 80% of them.

Keep in mind, these sets are aimed towards kids and kids love Batman. It’s their bread and butter of Super Heroes sets.

True, Batman is ridiculously more popular than his colleagues. If Marvel bought out DC, they would take Batman and ditch everyone else. (They’d take Deathstroke, but they already have Deadpool). Also, its easy to build a set around Batman, because of all of his vehicles. Everyone else has one vehicle at most.

That’s the idea, except they’re based on Teen Titans Go ( the difference is Starfire’s hair color). I gave Starfire a dark red hairpiece to make her into the Teen Titans version.

          • Norse Highlander

Ah. I probably would too. But I don’t have such a piece… I have a pretty low LEGO inventory beyond my sets, especially with minifigs.

Batman sells. And in marketing, you go with what sells. The Man of Steel sets seem to have sold poorly, the Green Lantern movie bombed, and who’s clamoring for an Aquaman-focused set other than nostalgic adults? Aquaman is a punchline more than anything else until his upcoming film appearances exonerate him. Of course, even then he is a merely a supporting player until he proves he can carry his own movie.

U forgot killer croc, catwoman, poison ivy.

      • Norse Highlander

PI= Poison Ivy, Forgot Catwoman. Killer Croc was in a DC Super Heroes set?

I want more “other” DC and less Batman. I don’t mind some Batman, like the GL set or the Wonder Woman/Gorilla Grodd set. I like that the Jokerland set includes some non-Batman characters, but the balance is too Batman for my tastes. I’m a big DC fan and Lego got me all excited with the Justice League sets. I hope that they return some day.

I don’t mind Batman either. I understand the other comment that Batman sells. If Marvel didn’t do so many movies, we’d probably be wondering why there are so many Spider-Man sets. We’ll see what else they do. They have not done a Watchtower or Hall of Justice sets yet and those would be excellent for selling second and third tier characters like Stargirl, Fire, Ice, Vigilante, The Question, and others. They could also do Titans Tower; Classic or Show.

Umm…I haven’t bought any of the big Batman sets, though I regret not getting Arkham when it was around. But I’m all over a ’66 Batcave. Seriously. Day 1!

    • Norse Highlander

I never heard of the 66 show until LB3. My fav DC shows are TT and B:TAS

      • Brad

The first Batman theme was based on TAS, in case you weren’t aware.

        • Norse Highlander

I heard it was. It came and went before I really got into it.

    • Allen

I doubt there will be a Bat-Pod with it but you never know.

What if this is another 1960’s era set. We could see the Batcycle with side car, and maybe a goofy Huey inspired Batcopter.

Check out batman counterfeit batsignal pursuit on lego ideas it’s a five vehicle set which includes a great looking batcycle with side car for robin it also has a harley quinn cycle with side car for joker if you like it cast your vote of support and it could become a reality !

  5. Al coholic

Gotham City Cycle Chase would be a good opportunity to include more Bat-Family members such as Red Hood or Red Robin

look at the tiger woman’s (LEGO minifigures series 14) hair piece

  7. Kyle

In the chase set, I would love to see a new and improved Harley… kind of like what they did with the new Harley in the Joker Fun land set recently released. I would also be willing to see some hair this time rather than a jester hat.. We’ll see
