This is a bust in Maryland. Two stores have no clue.
3rd party vendor hadn’t shown after 30 minutes. Spoke with store manager and they gave out the free gift which was the same polybag as the Lego Store promotion with Batman and the Bat-Signal.
I drove 10 miles to Taylor, and it was a complete bust. Called Trenton because I thought that was the next closest on the list, and got the same answer. Called Saline when I got home (third closest store, based on Walmart’s store locator) and they do have someone out front giving them away, so I was able to confirm that this is exactly what you said it was. I already got one from the LEGO Store, and while I wouldn’t terribly mind getting a second, I built an upgraded version of the batsignal already (black and very, very dark grey) and after eight copies of Clayface I have no need for that specific version of LBM Batman anymore.
On the plus side, I was able to find the Riddler/Joker combo pack for $44.73 instead of the $80+ price it would have cost online, and they had the Joker Training polybag for $3.99. If you want the combo pack, buy sooner rather than later, as the display stand had dedicated space for twelve of them and they didn’t stock any to the LEGO aisle.
This was a bust in Murfreesboro, TN as well. There was nobody there for any “event” except a Lego Batman movie display that had the joker training polybag which you had to pay $3.99 for. It wasn’t free.
