The new LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth sets will be releasing in June and we have a first look review of the Baby Dinosaur Dolores: Aquilops (76970). The set has 339 pieces and will retail for $27.99.

The first part of the build is actually a little plant with some flowers. It’s nothing too special and is just a throw in build.

The Aquilops is a new dinosaur that is introduced for the movie. The body has ball joints for the arms and Technic rotation joints for the legs. The tail uses some hinge plates which allow it to freely move around.

Since the Technic joints are used for the legs, it allows the Aquilops to stand upright without it tipping over.

The arms have ball joints at the shoulders and at the wrists. This gives a little bit of flexibility for various poses.

Finally we have the head for Dolores. The eyes are printed round tiles and they sit slightly angled. The mouth does open pretty wide. The head connects to the body using an unsightly ratchet joint that has lots of movement.

The LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth Baby Dinosaur Dolores: Aquilops (76970) will be the third dinosaur for this baby dino subtheme and it is as cute as the others. There is a good amount of articulation on it but that also makes it hard to hide all the exposed joints.
The new LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth sets were announced in early March with set prices but about a week later, the prices were increased. This particular set got a 12% price bump due to unknown reasons so it did get a little more expensive than the other ones.

Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
