Next up on our reviews of the LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth sets, we take a look at the Raptor Off-Road Escape (76972). The set has 285 pieces and retails for $39.99.

Minifigures
There are only two minifigures in the set Reuben Delgado and Isabella Delgado. Reuben has on a red sweater with a blue marking on the chest. He also is shown wearing some blue shorts which are dual molded legs. His double-sided head shows him with a content look on one side and a scared look on the other. His accessories include a radio and an orange revolver which I think is a flare gun.

Isabella wears a pink sweater with a pelican on the front. She also wears a pink backpack to complete her look. Her double-sided head shows her with a smile on one side a a scared look on the other. Her accessories include the Baby Dolores Aquilops and a printed 1×1 round tile of a snack.

Build
The Baby Dolores Aquilops is a new mold that has printing on the face, legs, and tail.

We also have the Velociraptor which uses the same mold as previous raptors but with a new color scheme. This version of the raptor is mostly light brown with a gray patch and stripes going along the back and some blue around the eyes. The arms and legs are all static and don’t move at all. It is also smaller than the previous raptor molds.

The Velociraptor goes with a little jungle build. At first look, it doesn’t look like anything out of the ordinary but there’s a slide function to push the leaves out as if the raptor is coming out of the bushes. Clever girl.

The other part of the build is the off-road vehicle. It has your standard jeep look with a red, black, and tan color scheme. The front hood has a sticker for the iconic T-Rex Jurassic Park logo. The front bumper has a sticker to signify that this is vehicle 02.

There are two seats to fit both minifigures and the dashboard is a sticker showing that this could be an electric vehicle.

The back of the off-road vehicle is the most interesting part. On the sides right behind the seats are spots for a tranquilizer gun and a needle. There’s also stickers showing the InGen logo which lines up perfectly with the surrounding bricks.

At the back of the jeep, there’s a spot for the tracking device. The device has a little satellite along with a sticker showing a raptor nearby.

Results
The LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth Raptor Off-Road Escape (76972) is just an okay set that is a little overpriced. It was originally priced at $34.99 but even then it was too much. The jeep itself is your run of the mill vehicle that is similar to other ones found in the Jurassic World theme. I think the more fun part of the set is the jungle section which kind of pays homage to the original Jurassic Park movie where the raptor ambushes Muldoon.

Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
