Minifigures

There are three minifigures in the set, Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf. Link is in his iconic green outfit with the brown strap going across the chest. This is the same figure as in the Great Deku Tree (77092). The hairpiece is also connected to his green hat and ears. He does have a double-sided head with angry expressions on both sides. His accessories include the Master Sword and Hylian Shield. What’s interesting is that he doesn’t include the Ocarina of Time.

Princess Zelda is a new variant of the character where she’s wearing the pink dress. There is some nice detailing on the torso which extends to the pearl-gold epaulettes. Her double-sided head shows her with a stoic expression on one side and an opened mouth expression on the other. She does have some printing of her headband on the head. Her accessory is a brick-built beam that she uses to hold Ganon.

Finally we have Ganondorf who is highly detailed. Ocarina of Time was the first time we’ve seen Ganondorf in human form so it’s cool to see him as a minifigure. He has a mostly brown outfit with printing of his tabard. Some nice details are that his arms and legs are dual molded. He also has a printed armor piece along with a printed fabric cape. He has a double-sided head showing an evil smile on one side and an angry expression on the other. I wish that he had a molded head to have his nose.

Although not technically a minifigure, we also have Navi which is the same as in the Great Deku Tree. It is pretty much a printed 2×2 dish with a 1×1 round tile.

Build

The build is a diorama style that doesn’t take up a lot of space but does represent the scene well. Right in the front, we have the Triforce propped up with some rubble on the back.

On the right side, there is a collapsed castle tower along with a broken walkway. It uses a very interesting building technique to have the tower slanted slightly. Behind the tower, we have the Megaton Hammer. At the top of the tower, there are some clear bars to hold Link and Navi.

On the walkway rubble, there’s a hidden Easter egg with three hearts. This could be a reference to the Three Heart Challenge that players do in game.

Next to the tower, there’s a roof section that has also collapsed. It is able to open up and hide the Ganon minifigure inside as he transforms into Ganon and the panel is popped up by pushing the lever on the back.

The back side of the base has a nice row of fire behind Ganon.

The rest of the area is for the large Ganon figure. There’s a couple of spots for the legs to stand on and it’s basically required for the top heavy figure.

For the Ganon figure, his build is similar to many mech-type builds that LEGO has done in the past. The upper torso is static as there’s no swivel at the hips. The arms are on ratchet joints so you can get a decent amount of movement on them. The forearms are just pinned on so you have a little movement here.

There is a fabric tattered cape that is clipped on the back.

The swords use some new pieces for the blades. The hilts are nothing too special and they are pinned onto the hands but the way the fingers are build, they don’t seem to be gripping the sword handles.

Ganon’s head uses some interesting pieces to get the shape of it. There are printed pieces for the eyes, teeth, as well as for the nose which uses a heart piece. The rows of braids are just clipped on behind the head.

For the lower half of the figure, the legs and knees are on ball joints but that is somewhat of an hinderance as it likes to tip over if not positioned right.

The tail on the back of the figure is brightly colored to show his weak point during the fight.

Results

Overall the LEGO The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle (77093) is a fun little set that showcases the last boss fight from the game. The minifigure selection is spot on although Ganondorf could’ve been a slightly more detailed in the head area.

The only problem I had with the set is that the Ganon figure likes to tip over a lot. The way the legs are built using the ball joints, it’s somewhat hard to keep him straight as he is also top heavy.
