For our next review of the LEGO Editions FIFA sets, we’ll be checking out one from arguably one of the best scorers ever with the Cristiano Ronaldo – Soccer Highlights (43012). The set has 490 pieces and retails for $29.99.
<Minifigure
The minifigure features Ronaldo in his Portugal kit with the red jersey and green shorts. The torso has printing of his number 7 on both sides as well as the captain’s armband. The legs are dual molded with printing for his cleats also with the CR7 logo. He does have a double-sided head with a determined look on one side and the other with an open mouth, perhaps him saying siuuuuu.
Build
Like with the other Soccer Highlights sets, the build celebrates the featured player. The base has the shape of a R and has the Portugal team colors of red and green.
In the front, there’s a brick-built Siuu! using various tile pieces. Right next to it, there’s a printed tile for Ronaldo’s stats as well as a script of his real signature.
In the middle of the field, there’s a bright ramp thing that Ronaldo connects on for him to do a bicycle kick. It works fairly well and he has just enough clearance for the bar.
At the back of the build, we have some of Portugal’s lush green mounts and traditional houses. At the very back, we have a large brick-built CR7 that attaches to the back of the model.
Results
The LEGO Editions Cristiano Ronaldo – Soccer Highlights (43012) is slightly less detailed that the Lionel Messi – Soccer Highlights (43011) that we’ve previously reviewed. This is more prevalent towards the back of the set as the houses and moutains are just a little too boring for what Portugal represents.
