A new LEGO Ideas set has released for June which is one of Peanuts’ most famous characters, Snoopy’s Doghouse (21368). It has 964 pieces and retails for $89.99.

Build
There are a few components to the overall build, Snoopy, Woodstock, and the doghouse.
Snoopy himself has the usual normal look that we’ve seen before in the comics and TV shows. The head is on a ball joint and has some moving ear flaps. The eyes are printed on a white windshield piece. Unfortunately, the eyes are emotionless and he doesn’t have a mouth. The arms are on pins and hinges for some extra movement.

The legs are a feature depending on how you want to display Snoopy. The first version is with him standing. There’s nothing too interesting about this version.

The next version is of him laying down on top of the doghouse. You’ll have to take off his head to move the slope down a little and remove the tail.

The third version has Snoopy has him in his iconic sitting pose in front of the typewriter.

Woodstock is also included in this set as it is usually seen with Snoopy. LEGO did a good job creating it using miscellanous pieces including some new yellow grass pieces for the hair and a fork for the tail.

The biggest part of the build is the doghouse itself. It sits on a fairly plain grassy area with some more of the new grass pieces. It is also probably the most repetitive part of the whole build because of the walls and for the roof. The top of the roof is build upside-down to allow some of the items in the set to attach to it but also have a smoother look without the studs on top.

Right above the opening is a printed Snoopy sign.

Attached to the back part of the grass, there’s a black structure which acts as sort of a stabilizer for the doghouse but can also open up as a night sky. When it is closed, it gives a darkness inside the doghouse.

When you take off the doghouse and open up the black panels, you’ll get a nice little campfire scene underneath the night sky. Here you can have Snoopy and Woodstock cooking some marshmallows.

Snoopy can also sleep on top of the doghouse by doing the head swap. Woodstock can sit on Snoopy’s belly as well.

The last part of the build is Snoopy’s typewriter that he uses to type his stories. This one is dated June 30 and it starts with “It was a dark and stormy night.” You can have Snoopy sit on top of the doghouse and have him typing with a quick swap of the legs.

The LEGO Ideas Snoopy’s Doghouse (21368) is a fun, nostalgic set that doesn’t break the bank too much. It is a little different than the original submission but I’m glad that LEGO included the doghouse as well since it is part of a lot of his adventures. I wish that LEGO put more details for Snoopy as he is pretty emotionless, maybe like a smile. His goggles would also be a nice addition as he battles the Red Baron but that would be kind of war themed and LEGO doesn’t do that.

Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
