Continuing with our LEGO One Piece reviews, we’ll be taking a look at Tony Tony Chopper (75643). It has 577 pieces and retails for $69.99.
Build
The main part of the build is Tony Tony Chopper himself. Like with a lot of the buildable LEGO characters, the build starts off with the torso. He does have a slightly chubby body type so he has a small belly. Going around his neck is a cloth piece for his fur.
His arms are on ball joints so there’s a good variety of movement here. The hands can also swivel and there are spots for you to attach the various accessories Chopper has included. While we’re here, he has a backpack that attaches to the back and the straps goes around the arms. The straps are a bit flimsy as they tend to fall off easily. The backpack can open up for some storage.
For his legs, they are on ratchet joints so they some stablility if you’re standing him or switching him over to a sitting position. The knees are on pins so there’s some swivel.
The head is also on a ratchet joint and it can move up and down slightly. It is needed because of how heavy the head is with the hat taking up most of the bulk. The details are spot on here as it does have his antlers sticking out as well as his ears. The eyes and nose are printed pieces so that is appreciated.
For the display stand, it’s just a round one that has some clear window pieces to hold Chopper up. You can also remove them to have him sitting down. In the front of the stand, there is a printed tile for Tony Tony Chopper’s name as well as some cherry blossom leaves.
For the accessories, Chopper has a chest full of medical stuff such as a green bottle, a smaller bottle with a rumble ball, a flower which I think LEGO is using for a cherry blossom. Chopper also has his medical book as well.
Results
The LEGO One Piece Tony Tony Chopper (75643) is a good representation of the character and makes a nice display piece. He is a smaller than I expected since the box is way bigger than it should be. The set is somewhat fragile in various places so if you have cats around, don’t have them get near it. The price of $70 is a little high for what you get so I suggest waiting for a decent discount.
