Perfect way to sort all the tiny pieces, thanks, bought 1 through the link.
Appreciate it.
Every Akro-Mils one I’ve gotten has been shipped to me broken, and they feel much more brittle than Stack-On. I vastly prefer Stack-On, and they’re cheaper too — $17.11 for an 18-drawer and $23.46 for a 60-drawer. Also, they have other options… 12-drawer, 22-drawer, 27-drawer, and my favorite, the 39-drawer for $14.32. MUCH better price and much better drawers.
I have 16 cabinets, and only one was broken.
The small plastic tabs that keep the drawer from sliding all the way out were broken. Those tabs were re-designed in the last batch of cabinets that I ordered. (I actually complained to the manufacturer, and it’s possible that my feedback contributed to the changed design.)
It wasn’t just the small tabs. Two out of the three I ordered had busted corners, one small and one large, encompassing an entire drawer.
But to each their own.
Don’t forget to consider my LEGO Brick Labels collection which was designed for these Akro-mils cabinets. The collection has more than 900 labels! http://brickarchitect.com/labels/
Another place people may want to check, if in the US, are Ace Hardware stores, as they sell similar part holders (if not made by Akro-mills). They may cost a wee bit more, but if you want to ensure that you get nice containers (and usually in Ace Hardware ‘red’) then that is probably an option for those who do not want them sent. If my memory servers me correctly they also have the mixed bins that have half filled small trays, half large trays as well.
In any case they are nice part holders, at least until you get too many of a certain part 🙂
I want get the Akro-Mils Storage Cabinet for my room one day and able to put lego parts together.
