Rest of Summer 2020 LEGO Products Available on Shop@Home – August 2020

LEGO has finally released the rest of the summer 2020 sets on LEGO Shop@Home here in North America. We thought a majority of these sets were supposed to be out at the beginning of the month but everything was pushed back a month. Intended for an updated September 1 release, the launch of these sets have now been pushed up a week, go figure. I’ve organized the sets by theme so you can easily find the ones you want. As of this post, the promotion for the LEGO Speed Champions Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO (30342) polybag is still available with purchases of $35 or more.

LEGO City Main Square (60271) Official Images

There is now a product listing for the new LEGO City Main Square (60271) on Shop@Home and we finally have details for it. Releasing on September 1, the set has 1,517 pieces and will retail for $199.99. Contrary to what we thought before, it does not include a monorail but a small tram. It also has a whopping 14 minifigures to add to your city as well.

Youngsters can dive right into the LEGO® City Adventures TV series with the amazing LEGO® City Main Square (60271) playset. There’s a city hall, city square, concert stage, classic diner and a tram station, plus cool toy vehicles including Mayor Fleck’s stretch limousine, Snake Rattler’s motorbike and Harl Hubbs’ handyman wagon. Add 14 minifigures, including an awesome lineup of LEGO City TV characters, and the scene is set for endless play.

New LEGO Products Available on Shop@Home – August 2020

It’s a big day for LEGO fans as there are a number of new LEGO products available for purchase for the August 2020 release. First is the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System (71374) which retails for $229.99. Joining it is the LEGO Super Mario theme which comes with a slew of expansion sets to go along with the Starter Course (71360). Next up is the LEGO Ideas Grand Piano (21323) which retails for $349.99. These are only a small fraction of the new things that you can choose from and below is a list of all the sets sorted by theme. Note that some of the more highly desired items will go out of stock/backorder very quickly. With the way things are going in the world, some of the items listed below may be pushed back for a September release. I won’t know until things go live on the site.

LEGO City Main Square (60271) Found in Billund

There is an image of a new LEGO City set that has been found at the LEGOLAND Billand store called the Main Square (60271). Just looking at it, there is a lot going on with the main focus on the town hall. Fans will also like the return of a small monorail that takes visitors to the city diner and performance stage. The price on it is 1399 DKK which is roughly about $220 USD. There’s no details on when it will release here in the US.

LEGO City 2020 Advent Calendar (60268) Official Images

There are now official images of the LEGO City 2020 Advent Calendar (60268) coming from the German online shop Meinspielzeug. The set has 342 pieces and it has six minifigures, including Santa. I also do like the printing on the ugly sweater on one of the minifigures.

LEGO Announces Partnership with National Geographic to Inspire Children

Although we’ve already seen images of the summer 2020 LEGO City and LEGO Friends sets, LEGO has announced their partnership with National Geographic to inspire children about exploration and the protection of endangered species. These sets have the National Geographic label on the boxes and in addition, LEGO has also announced a contribution towards the National Geographic Society to fund grants in ocean exploration and species conservation.

Billund, Denmark, 25 June 2020: Today, the LEGO Group and National Geographic unveil their most recent partnership. New LEGO® City and LEGO® Friends sets have been developed to create awareness about exploration and the protection of endangered species in the world’s jungles and oceans. To support the launch and engage children even further, a campaign has been developed in collaboration with National Geographic to encourage children to explore the world and maybe even develop their own creative ideas on solving the real-life challenges our world is facing. The campaign site is now live in English on LEGO.com/exploretheworld and will launch July 1st in additional languages.
