LEGO Ideas Sea Serpent (40912)

Back in 1992 when the LEGO Castle theme was at it’s high point, one of the sets released at the time was the Sea Serpent (6057). 34 years after by the grace of the LEGO Ideas A Twist of Nostalgia building contest, we have an updated Sea Serpent (40912). The set has 241 pieces and will be available during LEGO Insiders Days 2026 from July 7-12 with purchases of $180.

LEGO Ideas July 5 Update

It’s been a very active past week on LEGO Ideas as a dozen new projects have reached the Second 2026 Review Stage. This was more than the previous few weeks combined and we’re now up to 45 projects that have hit the 10,000 supporter goal.

LEGO Insiders Days 2026 Coming July 7-12

LEGO Insiders Days 2026 is coming next week and LEGO has revealed some of the promotions that will be going on during the event. First is the LEGO Ideas Sea Serpent (40912) which will be available from July 7-12 with general purchases of $180, while supplies last.

The other gift with purchase promotion is the LEGO Airplane (5010053) which is also available from July 7-12 with purchases of $100 of City, LEGO Creator 3-in-1, and/or Friends. This set was originally available at airports that had LEGO Brand Stores inside.

There will also be sales during Insiders Days for select sets and we can also assume there will be sets that earn extra Insiders Points as well.

LEGO Ideas E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (21370) Officially Announced

LEGO has officially revealed the next LEGO Ideas set with E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (21370). Releasing on August 1 (pre-order today), the set has 1,226 pieces and will retail for $139.99. The set features the iconic character that can angle his head up and down. There is also a glow brick to make his heart glow red.

LEGO Ideas Sea Serpent (40912) Gift with Purchase Set Revealed

LEGO has officially revealed a new gift with purchase set coming soon with the LEGO Ideas Sea Serpent (40912). This was the winning build for the A Twist of Nostalgia building contest. It is an updated version of the Sea Serpent (6057) from 1992. It will be available starting on July 7 but there’s no details yet on the price requirement to get it.

Update: LEGO has confirmed that it will require $180 a general purchase on the LEGO Shop and in stores.

LEGO Ideas Hidden Secrets Building Contest for Future GWP

LEGO Ideas has started a new Hidden Secrets building contest where the grand prize build will become a future gift with purchase set. The premise is to create something that has a hidden secret. Whether the build is a puzzle or something hidden in plain sight, the maximum piece count of the build is 250 pieces and the hidden element must be findable.
