LEGO Ideas 10K Club Interviews

LEGO Ideas is doing something new for members who have managed to gather 10,000 supporters for their projects and have reached the Review Stages. They are running interviews with the project creators of the First 2016 Review Stage and there you’ll have a chance to learn more about them personally and their project as well as tips on how to achieve the end goal of 10,000 supporters. From the wording of the post, after all the interviews have been done, the LEGO Ideas team will will reveal the results of which project(s) will become official LEGO Ideas sets.

Today, LEGO has posted the first interview with whatpumpkin who created the Fossil Museum. There are nine project creators to feature since there are nine projects that hit 10,000 supporters for the First 2016 Review Stage including Fossil Museum, the Gingerbread House, the Modular Train Station, the Old Fishing Store, the Jedi High Council, the Particle Accelerator, the Jurassic Park Visitor Center, Rolling BB-8, and Johnny Five.

There’s no word on how often these interviews will be ran but follow the LEGO Ideas Blog or the Facebook Page to get updates on when the interviews are posted.

LEGO Ideas Women of NASA Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Women of NASA by 20tauri is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. It was a very popular project as it hit the goal in less than two weeks. The project consists of some notable women that have played important roles in NASA’s history such as Margaret Hamilton, Katherine Johnson, Sally Ride, Nancy Grace Roman, and Mae Jenison. There are also some related vignettes to go with the minifigures.

The Women of NASA project now joins Voltron – Defender of the Universe, Spaceballs – Eagle 5, The Addams Family Mansion, the Merchant’s House, the Large Hadron Collider, LEGO Observatory – Mountain View, and Modular Construction Site as the projects that qualify for the Second 2016 Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas Modular Construction Site Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Modular Construction Site by ryantaggart is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project features a fully functional crane and is able to attach to a corner modular. The project also proposes some minifigures including a crane driver, financier, architect, bricklayer, two glaziers, a painter, a tiler, and two labourers.

The Modular Construction Site now joins Voltron – Defender of the Universe, Spaceballs – Eagle 5, The Addams Family Mansion, the Merchant’s House, the Large Hadron Collider, and LEGO Observatory – Mountain View as the projects that qualify for the Second 2016 Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas LEGO Observatory – Mountain View Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The LEGO Observatory – Mountain View by ThomasW is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The Observatory includes a telescope within the dome and another one on the viewing platform. The project also suggests that the dome is openable and turnable.

The LEGO Observatory – Mountain View now joins Voltron – Defender of the Universe, Spaceballs – Eagle 5, The Addams Family Mansion, the Merchant’s House, and the Large Hadron Collider as the projects that qualify for the Second 2016 Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas Large Hadron Collider Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Large Hadron Collider by NathanR2015 is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. It is based on the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator at CERN. It is also the second project of its kind to get the required amount of supporters on LEGO Ideas with the Particle Accelerator by JKBrickworks being the first. There was also the ATLAS Mini Model which was over on LEGO CUUSOO.

The Large Hadron Collider now joins Voltron – Defender of the Universe, Spaceballs – Eagle 5, The Addams Family Mansion, and the Merchant’s House as the projects that qualify for the Second 2016 Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas Adventure Time Brick-Built Characters (21308) Set Revealed

LEGO Ideas Adventure Time Brick-Built Characters (21308)

LEGO has revealed an image of the LEGO Ideas Adventure Time Brick-Built Characters (21308) which will displayed at San Diego Comic Con 2016 next week. The set will be released in January 2017 and the characters include Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, Lady Rainicorn, Marceline, BMO, Gunter and Ice King. The set will contain 495 pieces and retail for $49.99.

The project was designed by aBetterMonkey and it achieved 10,000 supporters back in May 2015 and it was eventually approved by LEGO to become an official set in March.

If you’re looking for the traditional minifigures of some of the Adventure Time characters, LEGO Dimensions will be releasing some of them in September.
