LEGO Ideas Indominus Rex Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Indominus Rex project by senteosan is the latest project to get 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project features the antagonist in the new Jurassic World movie as a fairly large display piece which contains around 700 bricks.

Although the dinosaur is a great model and a set I would like to have, I have some reservations of this project becoming an official set because of the LEGO Jurassic World license. If it was a generic dinosaur, it might have had a better chance to pass but since the description describes it as the one from the movie, I doubt that it will make it through but we’ll see in a few months.

The Indominus Rex now joins Brick-Built Adventure Time Figures, Caterham Super Seven, the Modular Library, Lothlorien, LEGO Physics, Ghostbusters: Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and Hobbit-Rivendell as the the projects that are eligible to be reviewed for a chance to be an official LEGO set.

LEGO Ideas Hobbit-Rivendell Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Hobbit-Rivendell project by fishingtwister is the latest one to hit 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. This project is a very elaborate MOC of the Elven city of Rivendell from The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings books/movies. It includes about 10 different buildings that you can display to your liking to recreate the scene. Note that the mountain in the background is not included in the project.

It’ll be going up against another LOTR project with Lothlorien along with Brick-Built Adventure Time Figures, Caterham Super Seven, the Modular Library, LEGO Physics, and Ghostbusters: Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in the review stage.

LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters: Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Achieves 10,000 Supporters

Overnight, Brent Waller once again has achieved 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas with his Ghostbusters: Stay Puft Marshmallow Man project. This will be Brent’s third project to go to the review stage including the Batmobile Tumbler Minifig Scale and Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary which eventually became the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108).

The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is essentially a large scale build of Gozer’s physical manifestation which towers over buildings and minifigures. The model stands at 13 inches high and contains around 1800 pieces at its current state.

The project joins Brick-Built Adventure Time Figures, Caterham Super Seven, the Modular Library, Lothlorien, and LEGO Physics as the ones eligible to be reviewed by the LEGO Jury for a chance to become an official set.

LEGO Ideas WALL•E (21303) Now Available for Pre-Order on Amazon

LEGO Ideas WALL•E (21303)

The new LEGO Ideas WALL•E (21303) is now available for pre-order on Amazon. It retails for $59.99 and will be available on September 1 so I assume that LEGO will be officially revealing the set soon. There’s something interesting about the description. It states “set also includes a booklet about the designer and the animated Pixar movie” so does that mean the movie is included or is the booklet about both the designer and the movie?

Update: And it’s been taken off Amazon.

Rumored LEGO Ideas Doctor Who Set Details

Back in February, LEGO announced that Andrew Clark’s Doctor Who and Compansions project on LEGO Ideas will become an official set. There hasn’t been much or any information, for that matter, regarding the set however Hulk_Smash over on Eurobricks has changed that.

They have mentioned that the set might be based on The Time of the Doctor Christmas special episode of the series with the minifigures being Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi’s respective Doctors, Clara, two Daleks, and a Weeping Angel. The set itself will be the TARDIS interior with the exterior on the end and it can “come off and display as the TARDIS.” The release date will be December 1st and as we already seen from a Toys R Us price tag, the retail price of the set will be $59.99 unless it was marked up but I doubt it was.

Keep in mind that these are only rumors until confirmed by LEGO themselves when they officially announce it, supposedly on September 1st, but Hulk_Smash has given legit information before so the details given could be true. Thanks to Josh for the heads up.

LEGO Ideas Doctor Who and WALL•E Set Prices Revealed?

We might not know much information about the upcoming LEGO Ideas Doctor Who or WALL•E (21303) sets but Toys R Us may have given us the prices for the sets. Over on Reddit, someone has managed to snap a couple of pictures of the price tags for both sets for the upcoming store shelf resets. As you can see, the Doctor Who set will be $59.99 while the WALL•E set will be $49.99. We’ve already seen some images of WALL•E so we can kind of gauge how big it is compared to the Doctor Who set which is a little bit more expensive. Usually there’s no markup on the LEGO Ideas sets at TRU so I believe these will be the prices at the LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home.
