LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star (75159) Officially Announced

LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star (75159)

LEGO has finally announced the next LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series set with the updated Death Star (75159). It hasn’t been much of a secret the past couple of weeks but there are now official details of the set. It will have 4,016 pieces and retails for $499.99 which is 213 pieces and $100 more than the recently retired 10188 version.

Although there are many, many fans that aren’t impressed with it, the main appeal is to those who weren’t able to get the previous version or for new LEGO fans who has just started collecting LEGO Star Wars sets. I do understand the animosity against the new set when it was first “revealed” because there are very minor updates to it but at a higher price point. For those individuals, that means you can save your money and use it on other LEGO sets that interest you more.

One thing to note in the press release notes was that the UCS Death Star (75159) is not an indication of any future re-release or set updates.

LEGO Star Wars: Rogue One Buildable Figures Sergeant Jyn Erso (75119) Revealed

LEGO Star Wars: Rogue One Sergeant Jyn Erso (75119)

A short while ago, Entertainment Earth “revealed” one of the three LEGO Star Wars: Rogue One Buildable Figures for Sergeant Jyn Erso (75119). Again, this isn’t really anything except for the people who weren’t able to see it before a few months ago. Jyn Erso will contain 104 pieces and will retail for $24.99.

There will be two other Buildable Figures in the wave which we hopefully will be able to see again soon with K-2SO (75120) and the Imperial Death Trooper (75121).

LEGO Star Wars Eclipse Fighter (75145) Review

LEGO Star Wars Eclipse Fighter (75145)

Back in February, it was announced that LEGO will be releasing a new animated series on Disney XD called LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures and in conjunction with the show, there was a couple of sets released as well. LEGO has kindly sent over the two sets for us to review including the Eclipse Fighter (75145) and the StarScavenger (75147). In this post, I’ll be review the smaller set with the Eclipse Fighter. It contains 363 pieces and retails for $29.99 which is a pretty good price/piece ratio. The contents of the box include three numbered bags and the instruction booklet.

**WARNING: If you haven’t watched LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures, I suggest watching it over on Disney XD as it does have an interesting original storyline which is set between Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. There will be some minor spoilers in the reviews.**

LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star (75159) Preview

We already know that the not-so-secret LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star (75159) will be coming next month as a VIP early access set. There are now non-leaked images of the set coming out of the Arundel Mills LEGO Brand Store in Maryland with an employee building the set in full view in front of customers.

While we wait for LEGO to send over the official details of the Death Star, we can see that it’s pretty much the recently retired Death Star (10188) but with small updates. For those who missed out on the previous set, you can now get this new version with updated minifigures being one of the highlights.

We should be getting the official announcement in a few days but rumor has it that the set will go for $499.99. Sound off in the comments below of what you think of the set.
