Is the LEGO DC Super Heroes Theme Dead?

One LEGO theme that was notably missing in 2022 was LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes. So there have been no sets released this year in the US unless you count The Batman Batmobile (30455) polybag which was found in a limited supply at Walmart. There’s also the Batman versus Harley Quinn (76220) 4+ set that was revealed a few weeks ago but no release date for it. Lastly, there was a rumored The Flash set but the movie was pushed back to 2023 so that set is delayed as well.

The LEGO DC theme has been a staple since 2012 with many characters making appearances in some very good sets. We even had a few video games that were a hit with fans. From 2019-2021, we got some of the larger scale builds like the 1989 Batmobile (76139), 1989 Batwing (76161), and Tumbler (76240) and we thought there was some opportunity for more larger scale vehicles for the future but that didn’t happen this year. LEGO also could’ve had a chance this year for the 30th anniversary of Batman: The Animated Series but that didn’t happen either.

So far for 2023, there has only been one rumored set and that is for a Technic Batcycle (42155) for The Batman which will be paired next to the Batmobile (42127). Other than that, there was been no other rumors for any LEGO DC sets for 2023 and that is making fans really disappointed with the theme.

Can we now say that the LEGO DC theme … Continue

LEGO Marvel Spider-Man (76226) Review

LEGO Marvel Spider-Man (76226)

In my other review of the new LEGO Marvel figures for 2022, we take a look at Spider-Man (76226). This one is 258 pieces and also is priced at $24.99 like with the other figures in the wave.

LEGO Marvel Spider-Man (76226)

LEGO Marvel Spider-Man (76226)

The first few steps of the build is pretty much the exact same as Miles Morales (76225) for torso area. One you get to the arms, there are subtle difference between the two. All the joints have either ball joints or click joints to give him a wide range of motion. You can easily get him in a lot of action poses but the main issue here is at the thighs. Like Miles Morales, the movement on the legs forward is limited and this also limits some of the crouching poses.

LEGO Marvel Spider-Man (76226)

Spider-Man does have a few more printed piece for his detailing which includes the head, chest, waist, and legs. I do like how the spider logo on the chest is made up of a printed hood and shield pieces.

LEGO Marvel Spider-Man (76226)

LEGO Marvel Spider-Man (76226)

For his accessories, Spider-Man does have some web pieces which are the same as Miles but they are plain white.

LEGO Marvel Spider-Man (76226)

Like I said with Miles Morales, the LEGO Marvel Spider-Man (76226) isn’t for everyone. Kids will have fun posing him around but his legs do limit what he can do. He also has the head piece that makes him look weird in certain angles.

Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the Continue

LEGO Marvel Miles Morales (76225) Review

LEGO Marvel Miles Morales (76225)

Releasing in September are some new LEGO Marvel figures and the first one I’ll be checking out is Miles Morales (76225). It has 238 pieces and retails for $24.99.

One thing LEGO has done really well with these figures is the range of poseability. Most of all the areas have ball joints or swivel joints. The legs use click joints to keep the figure standing upright while having a decent range of motion. This also hinders the legs moving forward so you can’t really get all the range that you should like any crouching motion.

LEGO Marvel Miles Morales (76225)

The shoulder pads are able to lift up unlike Iron Man so the arms can be raised higher. The fingers also have some movement so you can get that web shooting finger style. Coming with the set are some translucent blue web accessories.

LEGO Marvel Miles Morales (76225)

There are some nice printed pieces for the chest and the head but unfortunately, there is no printing on the back and it looks rather depressing from that angle. The headpiece uses the same one for all the characters so it has an odd shape.

LEGO Marvel Miles Morales (76225)

LEGO Marvel Miles Morales (76225)

Overall, the LEGO Marvel Miles Morales (76225) is a decent figure but there are those little things that take away from the model like the legs and the non-printed back. The initial impressions of the set when it was first revealed were mixed and I have a feeling that it’ll be like that again when people get their hands on it. Character figures aren’t fan favorites and it won’t be for everyone.… Continue
