The LEGO Movie 2 McDonald’s Happy Meal Toys Coming Soon

The LEGO Movie 2 McDonald's Happy Meal

McDonald’s has updated their Happy Meal site and it has revealed that The LEGO Movie 2 will be getting some Happy Meal toys next month. There’s no word on what it is but unless something drastic has changed, there will be no actual LEGO sets or minifigures included. If you remember from the first movie, we got some collectible cups featuring some of the characters.

Thanks to Danny for the heads up!

The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) Box Art & Packaging

The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023)

An image of The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) were revealed yesterday and now, an German online retailer has posted the box art and packaging for the set. If you look closely, do you see something different? If you guessed the packaging, you are correct. This new TLM2 minifigure series will be using similar packaging as the Unikitty Collectible Series (41775) which is slightly taller and the parts are in a bag inside another bag. This change could make feeling for a partiuclar minifigure somewhat more difficult as there is another layer of protection to go through. Some of the larger minifigures with unique pieces like the crayon, giraffe, and watermelon will still be easy to find but some characters will smaller parts will be a bit harder. What do you think of this small yet big change? Let us know in the comments below.

The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) First Look

The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023)

Folks on the other side of the world have started to receive their 2019 January-May LEGO catalog along with the LEGO Life magazine and we now have a first look at the upcoming The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023). We’ve already seen a few of them during my review of The Awesomest, Most Amazing, Most Epic Movie Guide in the Universe but now we get to see the rest of the lineup. The most surprising minifigures include the ones from The Wizard of Oz which consists of Dorothy with Toto, Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, and the Scarecrow. We’ll know the names of all The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures when LEGO decides to officially announce them which should be really soon since they will be available starting in February. Thanks to Simon Wiens for posting the image.

The LEGO Movie 2 Benny’s Space Squad (70841) Available on Amazon

For those who are looking for The LEGO Movie 2 Benny’s Space Squad (70841), it is now available on Amazon at retail price. The only downside is that it won’t be in stock until January 9 but at least you are able to order it and get it sooner than you would on Shop@Home. Again, this small set is very highly sought after and will probably be like that for a while just because of the four different spaceman minifigures.

If you prefer shopping at Target because of the REDcard discount, they also have it available online as well.

The LEGO Movie 2 Rex’s Plantimal Ambush (30640) Official Images

The LEGO Movie 2 Rex's Plantimal Ambush (30640)

There is a new The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part polybag that has showed up on LEGO’s servers called Rex’s Plantimal Ambush (30640). It has 32 pieces and it features Chris Pratt’s Rex Dangervest along with plant-like creatures from The Jungle Planet.

I’m not sure of the availability of the polybag at this time. Since it is on LEGO’s servers, it could be a future gift-with-purchase promotional item however it has also showed up in Walmart’s system through Brickseek as well. This might mean that Walmart may get it later on in the year, similar to some other promo items in the past.

This brings the number of known polybags for TLM2 to six so far and their availability are as below:

Emmet’s ‘Piece’ Offering (30340) – Target
Lucy vs. Alien Invader (30527) – Walmart
Mini Master-Building MetalBeard (30528) – Walmart
Mini Master-Building Emmet (30259) – Walmart/Target
Star-Stuck Emmet (30620) – EB Games pre-order bonus

The LEGO Movie 2 Benny’s Space Squad (70841) Availability

The LEGO Movie 2 sets have been available for a few days now and arguably the most popular set in this wave is Benny’s Space Squad (70841). At only $9.99, it has four different colored space minifigures which is something that fans highly desire. Currently, it is on backorder on LEGO Shop@Home and will ship in 30 days but if you can’t wait, some other retails have already started carrying the set as well.

Target online is also out of stock at this time but various locations may have them in store. Check out Brickseek to see which stores have them on the shelves or in the warehouse.

In addition, Barnes & Noble has it available online as well as in stores. You can check the availability of the set by entering your zip code to find stores closest to you. You can purchase online and pick it up locally.

Benny’s Space Squad will be more widely available at the beginning of the year so don’t worry if you can’t find it now. Don’t go paying flipper prices for it unless you really want it for some reason. I’ve already seen people selling and buying it for over $20. Keep in mind that it also may be a little difficult to find when the movie comes out in February because of the hype surrounding the movie. For what you get at that price point, I can see that it’ll be popular for a long time.
