The big news yesterday was that teaser trailer for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part was released online yesterday and I’m going to try and do a breakdown of what happened in the trailer and what sets we could get from LEGO from what was shown.

It’s been five years since the events on Taco Tuesday and Bricksburg has turned into an apocalyptic wasteland. If you remember, LEGO DUPLO characters came at the end of The LEGO Movie and it looks like they caused the destruction of the city.

As a result, everything turned into chaos and it “toughened and hardened” most people including Larry the Barista who underwent a drastic change. The only person that seemingly didn’t get affected was Emmet.

Emmet thinks he sees a shooting star go by but it is most likely a device sent down by a new character named Sweet Mayhem who is a minidoll instead of a minifigure. Here we can see a new Unikitty who is now a large armored cat that has long front and hind legs.

Building their way through trouble is still an integral part of their characters as you can see them build a four-wheel buggy that could be one of the sets we could get.

Soon after that, they meet Sweet Mayhem, voiced by Stephanie Beatriz, who actually looks pretty cool. She is a minidoll style and wears a stylish helmet with some sparkly wings.

The official teaser trailer for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part has finally dropped and we finally get to see what the movie is about. After the events of Taco Tuesday, Bricksburg has turned into a wasteland, sort of a Mad Max style. There’s also plenty of singing involved in the short teaser so it could confirm the rumors of this movie being a musical. Some of the new characters joining the movie are Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi, Sweet Mayhem and Ice Cream Cone. What so you guys think of it so far? Let us know in the comments below.

Earlier today, we got a look at a new teaser for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part in which we got a first look at an unknown character but thanks to Deadline, we now know who the character is. They have reported that Stephanie Beatriz has signed on to portray Sweet Mayhem (above) who was seen in the teaser poster. As you can see, Sweet Mayhem will be a minidoll figure with some glittery wings and a ray gun. It’s still not known what role she will have in the movie. Also in the Deadline report, Auturo Castro has also signed on to voice a character named Ice Cream Cone.

The first trailer for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part will come out sometime tomorrow so we’ll have an idea then of who Sweet Mayhem and Ice Cream Cone are.
