Disney Princess Frozen: Elsa’s Ice Palace Achieves 10,000 Supporters on LEGO Ideas

The Disney Princess Frozen: Elsa’s Ice Palace by Fohzen is the latest project to hit 10,000 on LEGO Ideas. This project was inspired by the movie and was submitted before the official LEGO Disney Princess Elsa’s Sparkling Ice Castle (41062)icon was released late last year. This version of the castle is made with more translucent bricks to give it a more natural ice look to it.

Elsa’s Ice Palace will be joining The Discworld, Science Adventures, and the Medieval Market Street as qualifiers for the First 2015 Review Stage. Although the project was created before the official set was released, it has a small chance of passing due to LEGO having an active license with Disney and they even stated in the comments, “a project based on an existing LEGO license has a smaller chance of passing the LEGO Review than other projects.” Many fans of the project would like to see this set be produced but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Question is this: Will Lego approve the set? I ask this because Lego has done something similar recently as mentioned above. I think it is still possible, as this has more detail and a snow giant. Overall, for those Frozen buffs out there, this might be monumental. Even if this set by Frohzen doesn’t make it, it is still really impressive that not only is it better than the first, but it also got 10,000 votes.

I know “Frozen” is all that and a case of beer but that actually looks pretty boring.

I love this set – not because it is based on the Frozen palace but because it is simply beautiful and unique – being built in translucent blue bricks. I agree that it probably won’t get chosen – because there is the existing set (which I think is pathetic in comparison). I don’t think there is much choice yet for this series of Ideas – medieval market street is good but again, it’s been done. What do others think?
