Less than a month after the release of the LEGO DFB – The Mannschaft Minifigure Series (71014), it is now completely sold out and LEGO will not be producing any more. If you didn’t know, they were only available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland as well as on Shop@Home Europe. The only way now to get them is probably through eBay or BrickLink unless you know someone that was able to get them. If you were one of the lucky ones that was able to get them, consider yourself pretty lucky as there was a very limited run of these minifigures.

Today I went to Legoland in Germany and asked about the figures. They told me exactly the same thing. At first I couldn’t believe it, but this post proves it. I really wanted to get a few of them…

Well… I have seen a full box of these in a local store here. Now I REALLY think I live here at the edge of Germany.
I don’t mind items being available for a limited time, but anything that is not available to everyone is crappy. It’s just bad manners.
As a person who lives outside Europe and wanted to get these figures, I think LEGO made the right decision in not selling these in other parts of the world. There simply isn’t a large enough market for DFB minifigs to justify making much more of them. Thankfully I was able to pick up six of my favorite players for eBay for an average of less than $7 a piece. I think over time, the resell prices for these have gone down significantly.
