The Boat Repair Shop by RobenAnne is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. This is also the first project to make it the Third 2016 Review Stage.
If this project looks familiar, that is because RobenAnne also created the Old Fishing Store which also hit 10,000 supporters back in January and this project is a follow up to it. Like with the previous one, the Boat Repair Shop is also modular and has lots of features such as the boat ramp with a crane, work floor, and a storage attic.

It is amazing, and great that 10K people liked it, but it will never be created as a set. I think LEGO has made it abundantly clear they want to make smaller IDEA sets, and well under 100 USD. Don’t be surprised if a similar themed set comes out as a Creator set in the near future though.
Have you noticed that the last few sets have been pushing towards $100? Doctor Who at $60, the Maze was $70, and the Caterham is going to be $80. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a set that’s at $100 next year.
Its all relative to pricing increases though and ‘inflation’. For example LEGO sets in general have risen in price, well by that thinking right now it is a 100 or less budget, but a 100 dollar set will be what an 60-80 dollar set is now in the future, the bar will always move. In other words, so not expect any modular/expert creator type sets to occur because LEGO is not going to do one, or they would have already (as there have been plenty of fabulous ideas).
