The new LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) is a very hot commodity at the moment and you’ll be lucky if you are able to find it available in stores. It’s so sought after at this time that LEGO Shop@Home has it out of stock for the time being with no estimated return date. Other retailers like Barnes and Noble may have it but your mileage may vary. Fans who are desperate for the set have resorted going to the secondary market however I would advise not going that route.

I believe LEGO has learned from the past in releasing limited sets, like the Research Institute (21110), especially for a theme like LEGO Ideas which has fans from all over, even those who are not traditional LEGO fans. In a recent post on Reddit, a user has gotten confirmation from LEGO that production of the LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) will continue production for at least through 2018. This isn’t shocking news but it does reassure people that there will be more of the sets coming.
The moral of the story is to be patient and don’t pay scalper prices for something that will be coming back in the near future.

I wonder whether demand was this high, if it was a standard set and not a LEGO Ideas release.
How many have been sold as real end user products and how many ended up as “investment” good… we’ll probably never find out
Hoarder/price gouger demand was high. That’s the problem.
So they’re not doing what Nintendo does and stopping production of products everyone wants?
Hooray!
That’s great. I’m patient and don’t need it ‘now’, but I was getting worried I’d miss out. Now I can use it to get a nice freebie in a month or two, whenever there’s something nice.
toys r us carries it
I’m relieved to hear this. I got screwed out of my Saturn the first time around because LEGO in their infinite wisdom shipped it via FedEx to my PO box and once it hit the local FedEx depot, they kicked it back to LEGO as they don’t deliver to PO boxes. Amazingly, I was informed they (LEGO) couldn’t simply reship it to my home address. So I got a refund and now have to continually check to see if it’s back in stock so I can re-order.
Big news…the Saturn V is back in stock at the LEGO.com shop! Just placed my order and this time made sure to give them my physical address.
No luck for me.
Bummer. I saw this morning they were out again. 🙁

This is from June, It’s now September! Where is it? When will it be restocked? Is it a secret? I need this in 2 weeks.
It shows up on Amazon once in a while but I can’t report on it every time it does. Try using nowinstock.net to set an alert for when it comes back online. It’s worked well for me before on other items I’ve bought.
Back in stock at John Lewis today! Online.
