LEGO Ideas SR-71A The Final Flight Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The SR-71A The Final Flight project by David Low, aka JustOneMoreBrick, is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project is based on the SR-71 Blackbird that NASA used in their final flight for the fleet back in 1999. The model has the iconic look of the SR-71 and includes some features such as adjustable tailplanes, retractable undercarriage, and a cockpit for a minifigure.

The project now joins the Embraer A-29 Super Tucano as the projects to qualify for the First 2018 Review Stage.

Another just for display LEGO Ideas 10k achiever… I’m starting to wonder if most visitors to that site are mostly only interested in display pieces and not, you know, something they can actually play with.

At least 10,000 people disagree πŸ™‚

I think the value of IDEAS is exactly that, though – to provide exciting alternative sets outside of the “built to survive rough play” requirement. I think we are living in a golden age where Lego is not only willing to produce sets like this, but recognize the huge demand for them. It truly is a special time for Lego fans.

        LOL, indeed.
However those 10,000 supporters also seem unaware of LEGO’s policy regarding recreating actual weapons of war πŸ˜›

True! Although, I suspect the Nasa version, besides being a cool configuration, is the way to slide right past that issue.

    Very nice. Hopefully it’s approved.
