LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Sets Releasing in May

The new German LEGO catalog for the first half of 2018 is now available and Promobricks has given a detailed look what fans can expect early next year. We’ve pretty much seen all of the LEGO sets that are shown in the catalog but I’m mostly talking about the LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sets. According to the little teaser, we can expect them to be coming out in May which is expected because the movie will be premiering in theaters in June. Rumor has it that there will be five sets (75926-75930), three Juniors sets (10756-10758), and two DUPLO sets (10879-10880).

So there may finally be a lego Allosaurus, my favorite dinosaur in the form of my favorite toy, child me would never believe it.

Some descriptions of the sets have leaked a few months ago and besides the Indoraptor there are no new dino’s in the sets (LEGO is so lazy). But that could change

Well bugger, thanks for the info though.

Does the Allosaurus have the name recognition to be featured in these films? I mean, you’ve already got T-Rex, Velociraptor, Dilophosaurus, Compsognathus, Spinosaurus, and several other land-based meat-eaters. The Allosaurus _has_ briefly appeared in JW, and has been spotted in a trailer for JW:FK, but just based on what I’m seeing in the Wikipedia entry, it’s pretty much Just Another Basic Meat-Eater, and there’s very little about it that would distinguish it enough to warrant a starring role in the film. I could be wrong, but looking up the list of dinosaurs that have appeared across the franchise I count 53 that have been positively identified (two of which are completely made up for JW). Many of them only appeared in databases or herd shots. Maybe about a dozen had a significant enough role, or were famous enough in their own right, that people actually remember them, and I can only identify seven species that were released in official sets. So it could just be that one of the people working on the film really likes them and pushed to get them a cameo role in the new film.

I would do anything for a Lego Allosaurus, its a favorite of so many includng myself. In seriousness, if a set had an Allosaurus, I would buy 3 of that set.
