In the second to last day of the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253), today’s model is probably the best one out of the set. For Day 23, we have a great looking Christmas tree. It’s a simple build that uses mostly slope pieces for the shape of the tree and it’s decorated with ornaments which are just a variety of translucent studs. The star also uses some trans-yellow studs as well. As I said earlier, this Christmas tree is the best build out of the set so far and it probably the best Christmas tree LEGO has released in general.

This tree would have been vastly improved by using square plates inside the upper half instead of round ones. The only problem is, there aren’t any in this set. I found that the 2×1 slopes would pop off as I was adding the lights to the tips, and they’re still really fragile otherwise.
I’m not sure I’d call it the best they’ve done, but it’s certainly not the worst. I think my personal favorite is 10069 because I figured out how to make a really huge tree using all the pieces from five copies, but the best tree they’ve done is probably 30286. And if we’re exclusively talking about Advent Calendars, I’ve gotta go with Day 22 from the 2014 SWAC.
