It was only a few days ago that we saw the official image of the LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter (5005249) minifigure and today we have a set in hand for an early review courtesy of BrickVibe. The minifigure follows a number of minifigures in this small promotional type box that we’ve seen before previously with the Easter Chicken (5004468), Gingerbread Man, and a larger Caveman & Cavewoman (5004936). At this time, there is no information on how it will be available at retail stores. All of the previous sets were available on LEGO Shop@Home at one point in time so it might show up on there sometime in the future.

There is a sleeve that comes off to show the details of the box. It shows a little house that is printed with some LEGO style flowers on the front and some egg painting on the back. The door opens up by punching out the perforation to reveal the Easter Bunny Guy who sits in a black container mold.

For the Easter Bunny Guy, he wears a light blue suit with a green striped shirt and a yellow bow tie. There’s also some partial printing of a bunny on the lower part of the torso. This is more clear with the printing of a bunny tail on the back of the torso. The legs are plain white to resemble the bunny legs.

The head has more of an adolescent look to him with the freckles and a bucktoothed smile. The bunny helmet is the same one as the Bunny Suit Guy from the Series 7 LEGO Collectible Minifigures. The paintbrush that he holds has a new blue color. Previously, we’ve only had green brushes. Finally, the egg is new with the painted design around it.

Overall, the LEGO Seasonal Iconic Easter (5005249) is a neat little set in which we get a mostly new minifigure unlike the previous sets of this type having the same minifigures or repaints. As mentioned before, the only things that have been previously used are the bunny helmet and the legs. Part of me wishes that he had short legs instead of the regular ones due to his facial printing looking more like a younger child.
As far as availability goes, it is still unsure as how to obtain it as of this writing but BrickVibe does have them in stock if you want to forego waiting for it to become available at outer outlets. I will do a separate post when I know how and when you can get it.

When you make a purchase or, sometimes, carry out some other action as direct result of clicking on a link at The Brick Fan, we will receive a small commission.

my local TRU (on the list) says they have not received them yet, to check back
Was the chicken coop for sure available through LBR at some point? I only remember it being released through TRU, and I remember it being released _at_TRU_ in at least two different waves (I know this for a fact because I remember being unable to acquire any the first time around, and looking at trying to chase one or two down at a TRU about 1-2 hours from home as long as I had to be in the area for a LUG meeting anyways, only to have them show up again locally a few months later). The Gingerbread Man and Cavemen are both definitely still LBR exclusive releases, as I’ve not heard of them being available through any other outlets.
It was only available for a day or so before they were gone.

Not even a day, from the sounds of it. I have no idea if I’d found them in the wild by that point, but I’m sure I didn’t have any purchases ready to go at the time. With all of the big ticket promos known well in advance, combined with stuff I need to get my hands on for specific displays (Sunday I got to display all 40 of the Arkham villains from TLBM in a town layout), I don’t generally have the luxury of jumping on stuff like this before it’s too late. I may have bought one or two online, but I know at some point during the second wave I found them at TRU and picked up at least a couple of them. I’ve done the same for the Batman Battle Pod (TRU) and the Kiss-Kiss Tuxedo Batman keychain (Target) after paying a pretty hefty price for a few of each online. It’s twistedly ironic, but it makes me feel like I didn’t spend so much for them if I can bring the average price down by buying even more.
