Force Friday 2016 is here but not without the hiccups. Technically, the event started at midnight EST/9pm PST but knowing how LEGO Shop@Home runs even with the new design didn’t satisfy customers. For those who were patiently waiting to make a purchase online and get the Darth Revan minifigure, I’m sorry to say that that promo may have ran out. Keep in mind that the Rogue One sets weren’t even available yet at this time which was a double bust. At of this writing at 8:00am PST, the Rogue One sets are now available with Double VIP Points but no Revan. Your best chance to score one is at the LEGO Store, if you have one nearby.
Clearly, LEGO screwed up big time with this promotion and I’m pretty sure there will be a lot of unhappy fans who were waiting to pick one up. I’ve read that some people already had issues last night making their purchases with them not going through or placing multiple orders, which probably took up some of the Revan inventory. I love LEGO but these issues with the site, especially during promotional times, need further internal testing. Were any of you successful in getting Revan before they ran out?

I made an order at 6am EST for a non-Rogue One SW set and it looks like it went through with the Revan mininfig but I don’t know if I got the double VIP points. I’m glad I didn’t wait until the Rogue One sets became active but they were showing as on Backorder as of 9am EST when I checked again.
Well, apparently the Lego shipping department screwed up my address label for my order even though I did not make any address changes to my account that I’ve used for many previous orders. So, the package is being shipped back to Lego and they won’t send back the same package and want me to do a reorder where I can choose to the the Admiral Yularen minifigure instead of the Darth Revan since it’s no longer in stock (besides the one that’s heading back to their warehouse from my original shipment). I’m definitely disappointed and I will not be doing the reorder.
I sat up until Midnight EST last night to try to get the promotion for Raven. When I saw that the Rogue One sets were not available yet I didn’t think the promotion started. I also didn’t see anything updated or stating the promotion on the home page. Guess I missed out!
I’m in CA, so tried a little after 9PM. I got an error on the payment processing page, so I tried again and got the same error. I gave up and decided to try again in the morning.
This morning I had a receipt email for one of the orders, so I checked my history and found that both went through with Revan. I considered being greedy, but did the right thing and called to have one of the orders canceled.
I ordered around 7am EST and got the Star Wars Advent calmer and got the Revan in order. But no double VIP points. I don’t if it applied to the advent calendar. I will just call after I receive order. I thought it was weird that the I didn’t see Rogue One sets. I did get errors a couple of times but page refreshed and all was good.
I ordered the same time, but got double points
I just ordered the Advent Calendar and the AT-ST. It told me that I had earned double VIP points and a free Ultimate Lavaria (yay?) but no Revan. I didn’t even see Revan advertised on the site.
I ordered a key chain last night to get figure, but ordered rogue one sets today for 2x points.
had plan to order one
I was able to get one and double points this morning
I suspect that running out of the promo so early was because of the number of people getting the constant error messages when checking out and accidentally placing multiple orders. With the new site having been up for weeks now, you’d think they would have had time to fix the glitches before their first major promo. (But my Darth Revan is in a box waiting for Fedex to pick it up so I’m a happy camper today!)
Yeah, I think I got three as a result of that glitch.
Just double points and stupid Lavaria for me. I emailed Lego asking about Darth Revan, I doubt I’ll get any substantial news but if so, I’ll post it.
LEGO UK really need to get their act together as I’m unable to purchase anything after signing in as a VIP. I was hoping to buy just one StarWars set that I don’t have and is responded with “Limit Exceeded” which is unacceptable as I don’t already have one! LEGO… I know your spies read these forums – Your new website layout sucks, we all hate it so please change it back to how it was. No wonder I’m doing most of my LEGO shopping at Asda, Tesco & Amazon these days!
I was able to get one with a keychain when ordering right after 9PM Pacific time. It did stall on the order page, but I checked my email and it said it had gone through so I just x’d out of it. Pretty sad that they did not have the Rogue one sets up when they said they would for others though.
I couldn’t even check out 🙁
In the UK, Darth Revan wasn’t even offered. I got very excited when I heard he was coming as I’d missed the previous event.
Instead, we got First Order stormtroopers 🙁
I was able to get Revan today with my purchase at the store, granted though it was a brand new store and I was early. Perhaps I will go back tomorrow and see if I can another more coveted item however.
I also want to mention that I previously had tried ordering during a promo to only find the promo was out. I prefer to go to the store in person when there are promos now; I don’t trust the site due to the high popularity of certain promotions.
Haven’t trusted the S@H website since they screwed me over in 2013 with the May 4th Han Solo GWP. I always buy in-store now; it’s more fun anyway since you have human interaction. My LEGO Store had several Revans still available when I dropped by after work to get this year’s advent calendar.
I went to a LEGO store that’s been around for a year at a comfortable time in the afternoon, the store wasn’t crowded, all the Rogue One sets were there, I picked up the K-2SO ultrabuild, got Revan (YES!!), got the double VIP points, chatted a bit with the store employees, and left. Sorry others weren’t so lucky, but it ran smoothly for me (of course, since I did it in-person)!
I wonder if we got to the same store. I had the same exact experience.
In the e-commerce world, LEGO’S tendency to have fatal issues during their biggest promotions is unheard of, unacceptable, and really should be an embarrassment to them. Yet for the last 4 years that I have been avidly purchasing from their site (or trying to), this had happened numerous times. Today, the new SW sets were listed as coming soon late into the day, the promised minifig never showed up in the cart, and most hilariously of all, whenever I did try to complete a transaction, I just got an error that simply told me to call customer service. No thanks. I’ll pass.
I could drive 150 miles to the nearest store and had planned to do so tomorrow, but this debacle has been so ridiculous & irritating, it no longer seems worth the effort.
yeah, i couldnt even check out. it kept telling me that my order could not be processed and an error window kept showing up on my screen. this was a bunch of crap. Lego needs to handle their crap, or customers will be lost.
I got three of them, no problem. Had them for about 2.5 years now.
They has to practice the Darth revan debacle with a any lego set on lego shop@home online.
Yea we get it the stores were good, that wasn’t the issue …but online was another store
The trouble is that LEGO offered free shipping on any order and opened up the promotion to include keychains. The re-sellers of the world flooded the server at 9PM EST and ruined it for the everyday consumer…much like any exclusive event.
That was half of the problem. The other half was that the checkout process wasn’t working properly so it didn’t look like orders were going through and people accidentally placed multiple orders. I have two identical orders each with a Revan on the way to me and Lego says there was nothing they can do but let them arrive and return one. Customer service was so flooded with complaints on Friday that I couldn’t reach a person to cancel the duplicate order until after both had shipped.
