This is amazing. Not the sale, it sucks, like normal. However 41321 isn’t even out yet and is already on sale. HAHA!
Well yeah, Amazon exists. 😛
That is your opinion. You some items on 20% off AND two promo throw ins? Not bad at all IMO
It’s not horrible for the five exclusive sets on sale. But any day of the week you can walk into Walmart or Target and find pretty much any set for 20%+. That’s the problem with S@H, most of the time the sets on sale are still more expensive than the normal prices anywhere else.
The double promo was nice. Sadly when I looked the Toy Shop was out of stock, and a friend told me it came back (as backordered) but the pig was gone. 🙁
I get all my sets super cheap at walmart. The only problem is sets I can’t find there, like some of the really big stuff. It’s too bad because then relative to all the other sets, the exclusive stuff costs waaaaay too much, since when I can get Rex’s AT-TE for 30$ it feels crappy to be paying over 100$ for anything.
Any day of the week I can walk into Walmart or Target and find sets for approximately MSRP, +/- $0. Okay, fine, Walmart knocks $0.02 off the smaller sets, and maybe a buck or two more on the $100+ sets.
Sellers on BL have actually been lamenting the fact that the days of huge discount sales on end-of-life sets has largely been eliminated (and claiming that’s bad for The LEGO Company, which is absolutely untrue). I don’t doubt that there are some markets where the default stock levels simply don’t sell out without a little assistance, but around where I live most of the chain stores still burn through around 90% of their stock on hand leading up to Christmas, probably as a direct result of the bump in popularity they got from the release of The LEGO Movie. Now, I do find the occasional sale at these stores, but it’s only on a handful of sets at a time, with shelf tags indicating which sets are affected. TRU regularly puts more sets on sale than the local Walmarts and Targets combined, because they usually put 1-3 themes on sale at the same time, instead of individual sets.
Weird, I’ve had virtually the opposite experience. TRU is pretty much my most expensive way to buy Lego because they consistently upcharge sets from their price everywhere else, and the sales often only get their prices close to a small rollback price at my local Walmarts. Maybe I have better luck with the Walmarts in my area, but they’re almost always the cheapest way to find anything, and frequently have stocks of retiring sets for very low price points.
TRU puts sets on sale… after bumping up their ‘RRP’ to 20-25% over what the normal RRP is (from LEGO). I rarely buy from TRU unless it is a poly bag, or it is an exclusive set
As for Walmart, it is great if you can find one near you that has insanely good clearance prices for sets. Unfortunately not everyone lives by such locations.
‘…Pretty much any set…’.. except for ‘exclusives’ and TRU exclusives..Both of which rarely go on sale outside of LEGO (or TRU bumps their ‘RRP’ for those sets 25% so really you still either pay over retail or at retail after the sale price). Plus if you get double points, and double promos, it helps.
I also rarely buy direct from stores anymore as there is too much theft in
the LEGO aisle, particularly people emptying boxes of the sets to return them to the
shelf.
I will say I do buy from Amazon.. a lot ..when it comes to LEGO, but so far this year much of the sale stuff has been mostly capped at around 20% anyway (with some exceptions), at least so it seems (aside from their pre Prime day LEGO error that dropped some large sets to insanely low deals).
