The current theme for the LEGO Star Wars 2015 Advent Calendar (75097) is still Tatooine and today we have a rather obscure object if you didn’t pay fairly close attention to A New Hope.

For Day 3, we have LIN-V8K or the LIN Demolitionmech droid. I believe this is the first time we’ve seen this droid in a LEGO Star Wars set. The overall shape of it is pretty decent as compared to the source. Although it does have the look, there are some small issues with it. As you can see, the treads are a little too large and the arm is also a little too low but there isn’t much else that LEGO could’ve done without making the droid larger. This build was somewhat a small letdown from the first two days.

After opening the 4th door today (I’m living in Europe) it seems this years calender will be a great addition to the 75059 UCS Sandcrawler
Allen – admit it, you didn’t know what it was either!
I’ve been opening ours with my son each night before. So all day yesterday I was looking to see when 1 of you guys would post a review so I could find out what in the heck this was. NO ONE posted anything until the late afternoon, which I guess is when someone figured it out and told everyone else. You must have posted yours at the 11th hour because I didn’t even see it until just now.
I’ve already done the reviews on all the items back in October and they are scheduled for release at 8:30pm PST each night so everyone can open theirs first and not be spoiled by the posts. This schedule has been going on for the past couple years for the calendars.
For the record, I really like this policy.
Did not know that, could have swore I saw the first 2 earlier in the day. But now I know, and I agree it’s a good policy. Thanks!
Was this not in a previous set as well? I know I found one in a “LEGO droid minifigure” search i did somewhere months ago..and built a couple for my project back then….perhaps someone posted the advent calendar stuff early….
I didnt know what it was from, so I assumed from the prequels…get out of my calendar, Prequel Droid!
