LEGO Creator Taj Mahal (10256) Officially Announced

In a surprise announcement, LEGO has revealed that they will be re-releasing the original 10189 LEGO Creator Taj Mahal as a new 10256 set that will be available starting on Cyber Monday, November 27. The set will go for $369.99 and has 5,923 pieces. Check out the full press release below.

Build and discover the Taj Mahal! The huge ivory-white marble mausoleum, renowned as one of the world’s architectural wonders, was commissioned in 1631 by the Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, the Empress Mumtaz Mahal. This relaunched 2008 LEGO® Creator Expert interpretation features the structure’s 4 facades with sweeping arches, balconies and arched windows. The central dome, subsidiary domed chambers and surrounding minarets are topped with decorative finials, and the raised platform is lined with recessed arches. The model is finished with ornate detailing throughout and intricate tilework around the base. LEGO Star Wars Toys R Us BB-8 Building Instructions

Yesterday was the Bricktober LEGO Star Wars Build & Take event at Toys R Us for the midi-scale BB-8. For those who weren’t able to go, a reader named Dennis has generously provided a PDF of the build so you can build your own. Honestly, this version of BB-8 is fairly ugly, especially the head area, but there’s really no other way to do it.

LEGO Ideas Women of NASA (21312) Review

The newest LEGO Ideas set to be released is the Women of NASA (21312) which is based on the project of the same name introduced by Maia Weinstock, aka 20tauri. The set has 231 pieces and will retail for $24.99. The set celebrates some notable researchers and explorers in NASA’s long history.

Could We See More Continuity in Future LEGO City Sets?

Official images of some of the new 2018 LEGO City sets came out today and eagle-eyed fans may have noticed some implied continuity with one of the sets. If you look closely at the family, they may look somewhat familiar. That is because the mother and father appear to be the same minifigures as the ones in the 2016 Fun in the Park – City People Pack (60134), minus the color swap on the mother’s pants. The baby, however, looks to be grown up now and is enjoying the outdoors with his parents!

The continuity theory is interesting for LEGO to throw in because since we grow up with these sets, it’s nice that the sets also grow up with us as well. I do look forward to seeing more continuity in future LEGO City sets. Maybe next year we can see the child as an adult and the parents be older adults.
