LEGO has finally officially revealed the LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309). The set will consist of 1,969 pieces and retail for $119.99 and it stands at about 1 meter high (1:110 scale). This will be the largest LEGO Ideas set to date and will be available starting on June 1. Yes, it will come out the same day as the LEGO Creator Carousel (10257) which was announced yesterday.
If you didn’t notice, there’s one little Easter egg hidden in the piece count. As I mentioned above, it has 1,969 pieces and that number is also the year that the Apollo 11 landed the first humans on the moon with Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin.
Make history with the LEGO® NASA Apollo Saturn V, the first rocket to put people on the Moon! Build the 3 stages of this stunning meter-high rocket and display it on the stand or launch into orbit. Offload the S-IC and S-II sections, dock the lunar lander with the command service module, and complete a successful Moon landing mission!
The set also includes 3 stands to display the model horizontally, 3 new-for-June-2017 astronaut microfigures for role-play recreations of the Moon landings, plus a booklet about the manned Apollo missions and the fan designers of this educational and inspirational LEGO Ideas set.

Toys R Us has revealed the LEGO Star Wars Princess Leia build that will be happening on May 6 from 12-2pm local time, while supplies last. Honestly, the build looks bad but collectors will still want to get it and kids will have fun building it. There is a sign up form that lists the event but who knows if TRU will actually follow that or just let people in line build it. Thanks to CM4Sci for the heads up.
More details about store exclusive bundles for the home version of The LEGO Batman Movie have been revealed. I’ve been notified by a reader that Toys R Us will also have a Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital HD bundle available which includes The Mini Batmobile (30521) polybag for $34.99. This polybag is the same one that was available a few months ago at TRU.
This bundle adds on to the list of other store exclusives that I’ve reported on earlier which includes a lunchbag from Walmart, the Batgirl (30612) minifigure polybag and postcards from Target, and a SteelBook from Best Buy.
If you’re a collector of the LEGO Hallmark Ornaments and was disappointed that there wasn’t one last year, you’ll be glad to know that there will be one this year. In previous years besides last year, Hallmark has been releasing LEGO ornaments and it looks like they’ll be releasing one later this year for The LEGO Batman Movie. In the Hallmark Keepsake Dream Book, they have listed Batman (QX12215) to be available later this year for $15.95.
