Rumored LEGO DC Super Hero Girls Set Info

Remember last year when Warner Bros. announced the new DC Super Hero Girls and LEGO would be producing some sets in conjunction with it? Well there looks to be some concrete information about the LEGO DC Super Hero Girls sets with some set numbers and possible set names courtesy of CM4sci on Eurobricks.

He mentions that each set would come with a small crystal-like villain build. The box packaging is “blue and sparkly” and is better that expected. There are six sets that will be available in February. Without me seeing what the sets are like, I’ll just quote what was mentioned in CM4Sci’s post from what he’s seen.

Batgirl’s Batjet (41230) – A small and round Batwing, it actually looks really neat. It uses the round UFO corners as the wings in a dark blue. In front is a pretty well hidden net launcher. Batgirl is in no way final but she’s sitting in the jet. There’s a small buggy for the yellow bad guy, who seems to be holding a phone?

Harley Quinn’s Cafe Rescue (41231) – Small, two floor cafe build labled ‘Capes & Cowls’ Harley Quinn is on a flying net shooter with wings? The piece usually used for net launchers is the middle. Steve (is that his name?) Is captured in a vine on the top floor. There’s a green crystal baddie included.

The High School (41232) – It looks so cool – Giant central tower that with stickers gives off the perspective that it’s growing to a sharp point.

Upcoming September 2016 LEGO Star Wars Promotions

If you missed out on the LEGO Star Wars Darth Revan (5002123) minifigure back in 2014 or the then LUG member only Escape the Space Slug set earlier this year, there are some promotions that LEGO will be running for you to be able to get them, at least for guaranteed one of them.

First is the Darth Revan minifigure that will be given away with any LEGO Star Wars purchase at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home on September 30, 2016, while supplies last. Doesn’t look like there’s any other stipulations on it so that’s good. Plus, Force Friday 2016 for the Star Wars: Rogue One sets will be available so it’s pretty easy to get Darth Revan if you plan on purchasing something. Be sure you make your purchases then since this promo is only valid for that day.

For the Escape the Space Slug set, you have to be a LEGO VIP member and purchase the UCS Death Star (75159)icon during the VIP early access timeframe which is September 15-30, 2016. After you do that, you’ll be automatically be entered to win one of the limited edition sets. There’s a limit of one Death Star purchase with a particular VIP number so you can’t have multiple entries.

Update: I’ve been notified that over on the sweepstakes page, you can also enter without making a purchase.

Last year around this time, it was reported that local costume company, Disguise had announced they were partnering up with LEGO to produce official Halloween costumes in a multi-year deal. The nice folks over at Disguise has sent over a press kit with their official press release from a few days ago as well as some product images. They’ve also sent over a review copy of the LEGO Ninjago Lloyd Prestige Costume so I’ll be review that soon. Check out the full press release and images below.

LEGOLAND California Expanding in 2017

Earlier today, LEGOLAND California announced the park will be expanding next year and in the next few years. The first thing that was announced by General Manager Peter Ronchetti was that the LEGOLAND Hotel will be having LEGO Ninjago themed rooms which will open in Spring 2017.

Speaking of the themed rooms, the Kingdom themed rooms at the hotel have become so popular that LEGOLAND will be building a new LEGO Castle Hotel. Construction will begin next year and will open in 2019 in front of the Sea Life Aquarium.

Probably the biggest news of the day, at least for me, is the expansion of the LEGO Star Wars Miniland. Opening in March 2017 just ahead of Star Wars Days, the area will have a new area for Episode VII: The Force Awakens. There will be six scenes from the first 30 minutes of the film including Kylo Ren’s capture of Poe Dameron at Jakku, Rey’s rescue of BB-8, and Poe and Finn’s escape from the Star Destroyer Finalizer. With an expansion at a limited space, The Force Awakens area will be replacing the Clone Wars Christophsis scene.

Finally, the water park will also be expanding with a new area called Surfer’s Bay. There will be a water slide with six lanes going 17 feet high and more than 100 feet of track. There will also be an area where water is sprayed up from the ground where kids can run through called the “spray ground.”

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Elves’ Workshop (40205) Image

Jason from BrickVibe has somehow gotten a hold of the LEGO Seasonal Thanksgiving Pilgrim (40204) set and on the back of the instructions is an image of the Christmas set which looks a like an Elves’ Workshop (40205). The set features two elves working on building some toys. There’s no piece count given but it’s safe to say that it will retail for $9.99 like with the other LEGO Seasonal sets. The Toy Workshop (40205) will probably be available at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home starting in November.

LEGO Creator Winter Holiday Train (10254) and Star Wars Death Star (75159) Now Available for VIPs

LEGO Creator Winter Holiday Train (10254)

The holiday season is slowly creeping up and to kick it off, the LEGO Creator Winter Holiday Train (10254)icon is now available for VIP members on Shop@Home and at LEGO Brand Stores. The set contains 734 pieces and retails for $99.99.

Unlike last year when LEGO released the Winter Toy Shop (10249)icon, a lot of people were upset that it was basically just a re-release of a previous set however, the Winter Holiday Train is not a copy of the 10173 set from 2006. This set also has 16 curved train tracks included so you can create a whole circle. You can also motorize the train with Power Functionsicon but they are not included with the set.

LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star (75159)

The other set is that available for VIPs today is the LEGO Star Wars Death Star (75159)icon. This version of the Death Star has similar features to the previous 10188 version but has slight updates and a couple of new minifigures. Although a lot of Star Wars fans may not like it because it’s pretty much a rehash of the old one, it is geared towards fans who have just started collecting LEGO Star Wars and missed out on the previous version which was recently retired. The Death Star (75159) will have 4,016 pieces and retail for $499.99.

One thing to note is that there aren’t any worthwhile promotions going on at this month so if you can hold off until October, you can get Double VIP points plus the Holiday Countdown Calendar (40222) with the … Continue
