LEGO Sculpture Giveaways by Artist David Tracy

LEGO artist David Tracy has informed me that he’s doing some giveaways over on his Instagram. A few weeks ago, David did a livestrem over on Tastemade where he created an ice cream cone, a tea cup, and an apple and pear. All you have to do is to follow his Instagram page and like the picture(s) you’re interested in winning. If you’re trying for the pear and apple picture, the apple has been sold so you’re only trying to win the pear.

If you have the Merlok 2.0 app, you can also go on a clue hunt to get a Nexo Knights Power as well. Remember to get there early as these building events are pretty popular and can run out of stock quickly.

New The LEGO Batman Movie Trailer Released

The LEGO Batman Movie

As expected, Warner Bros. has rolled out a new trailer for The LEGO Batman Movie. Here we get to see the lonely life of Batman. There’s also some vehicles shown like the Bat-Sub, Bat-Zeppelin, and the Bat-Kayak. We also get a new look at some of the villains that will be appearing in the movie including the Mime, Eraser, King Tut, Kite Man, Polka-Dot Man, March Harriet, Crazy Quilt, and Zodiac Master.

The LEGO Batman Movie New Trailer Coming Tomorrow

If you didn’t see the announcement yet, LEGO and Warner Bros. will be releasing a brand new trailer for The LEGO Batman Movie sometime tomorrow. Originally it was rumored that the trailer would drop today but it was retracted and pushed back one day. Hopefully the trailer will show off more of the villains of the movie since there should be a plethora of them.

Speaking of The LEGO Batman Movie, there’s a list over on Eurobricks and on Brickset of more sets that we should be getting. Note that the set names are just placeholders with some of the villains. I’ll mark the ones that we know are confirmed from the SDCC and NYCC reveals. Keep in mind that nothing is confirmed but CM4sci stated that 90% of the list is correct so there’s that.

LEGO Leicester Square Lester Official Minifigure Revealed

LEGO Lester

Back in September, it was revealed that UK’s new flagship LEGO Brand Store in Leicaster Square with have a mascot named Lester. There is now an image that has been released of Lester in actual minifigure form coming from LEGO’s social media sites.

Anyways, Lester looks pretty much exactly like what we saw in the reveal image with him having a suit with the Union Jack design and a bowler hat. The image also shows with with an umbrella and a camera but I’m not sure if they come with it, if it is released. There’s still no word on how you can obtain the minifigure but I’m sure LEGO will be announcing something as we get to the store opening date of November 17.

LEGO Christmas Toy Soldier Ornament (5004420) Review

LEGO Christmas Toy Soldier Ornament (5004420)

The past few years, LEGO has released exclusive ornaments as part of promotions and for 2016, they’ve continued to do so with the LEGO Christmas Toy Soldier Ornament (5004420). It is currently available for free with purchases of $50 or more at LEGO Brand Stores and on Shop@Home, while supplies last. The Toy Soldier is the largest of these types of ornaments to be released coming in at 34 pieces.

Like with the previous ornaments, the Toy Soldier comes in a resealable package which holds the blue fabric bag the parts are in. The contents include two small bags this time, the instructions, and the string.

The build is pretty straightforward as you build from the bottom up. I do like the use of the 1×2 plate with the handles on the sides for his moustache. When we first saw an image of the set, we couldn’t see if it included the printed tile for the year but sure enough we do get a printed 2×2 tile with 2016 on it.

Overall, I do like the new LEGO Christmas Toy Soldier Ornament (5004420) as it’s another addition to the growing collection of promtional Christmas tree ornaments with the Train (5002813) in 2014 and the Christmas Tree (5003083) in 2015. If you can’t get the Toy Soldier Ornament for whatever reason, you can build your own with the instructions below, minus the exclusive 2016 2×2 tile.
