LEGO Disney Princess Mini Belle’s Castle Building Instructions

LEGO Disney Princess Belle's Castle

If you missed out on the LEGO Disney Princess building event at LEGO Stores last week which you had to register for, we now have some building instructions for the Belle’s Castle mini build. My good friend John has sent over some instruction scans of the build which looks pretty nice when completed. If you have the parts, you can now create your own mini Belle’s Castle.

These special building events are listed on the LEGO Store Calendars for the months that have them and I usually highlight them when the monthly calendars become available so you have to keep your eyes peeled.

LEGO Dimensions Gamescom 2016 Gameplay Footage

Earlier today at Gamescom 2016, IGN did an interview with LEGO Dimensions Game Directors James McLoughlin and Arthur Parsons to talk about details about some of the upcoming expansion packs for Year 2. There’s also some new gameplay footage of the Harry Potter Team Pack (71247) as well as from the Sonic the Hedgehog Level Pack (71244). In the Harry Potter World, you can see Voldemort flying through various locations like Grimmauld Place, Hogsmeade, and Hogwarts using the unsupported flight spell. The LEGO Dimensions Year 2 Wave 6 content will be available starting September 27 and can be pre-ordered on Amazon.

LEGO Ideas Caterham Seven 620R (21307) First Look

Back in March, it was announced that the Caterham Super Seven project by Carl Greatrix was one of the projects that was able to pass the LEGO Ideas Second 2015 Review Stage. Today over at Hoth Bricks, there’s an image of the Caterham Seven 620R (21307) which looks to come from the French LEGO Store Calendar. There’s still no official announcement from LEGO Ideas at this time for the set so we don’t know the price point or piece count. Rumor had it that it will be released in October for $80.

LEGO Harry Potter Collection Coming to Playstation 4?

PlayStationLifeStyle.net is reporting that the Brazil Rating Board had a listing (now removed) for a LEGO Harry Potter Collection will be coming to PlayStation 4. The collection is reported to include both LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 as well as LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7. There was no mentioning of when the LEGO Harry Potter Collection will be released but the Harry Potter Universe has been the talk for the past few months with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play and book along with the Fantastic Beasts movie coming out soon. If the PS4 collection does come out, I wouldn’t be surprised if it also comes with some kind of exclusive LEGO minifigure or build.

The LEGO Christmas Ornaments Book Review

A few days ago, I received a new review copy of The LEGO Christmas Ornaments Book: 15 Designs to Spread Holiday Cheer by Chris McVeigh from No Starch Press. If Chris’ name sounds familiar, he’s a pretty popular builder and photographer in the LEGO community. The book contain 220 pages and retails for $19.95 and will be available at the end of September.

The LEGO Christmas Ornaments Book consists of 15 different builds ranging from simple builds like the wreath variety to more involved ones like the computer and camera. They are grouped into three categories such as Christmas Classics, Geometric Designs, and Fun Stuff which are your non-traditional holiday ornaments. The instructions are broken down in a very simple way, similar to what LEGO does with their instructions. At the beginning of each build, there’s a parts list, including the official parts ID number, to let you know which parts are need to create it and of course, you can substitute the colors to your liking. If you’re not familar with the numbers, you’re probably wondering what they are as it is not explained anywhere in the book. Words are very scarce since there really is no need for them.

One thing that I really appreciate about the instructions for this book as compared to other third-party instruction books is that the ones in this one are large and easy to see as compared to the small instructions with a number of pieces squeezed into that step.

Overall, The LEGO Christmas Ornaments Book is a … Continue
