Today marks the start of the final week for the LEGO Star Wars 2015 Advent Calendar (75097) with only a few days left to go.
LEGO News, LEGO Reviews, and Discussions
There hasn’t been much information about the upcoming 2016 LEGO Angry Birds sets but there are now the first official images of the sets coming from the Russian 2016 catalog. I won’t translate the names because I know they’ll come out weird but we do know the names of the characters for the sets. For the birds we have Red, Matilda, Stella, Bomb, Chuck, and Mighty Eagle. For the piggies, we have King Pig, Leonard, Pirate Pig, Biker Pig, Chef Pig, Foreman Pig, and generic Piggies.
The sets themselves look pretty interesting in various locations like the castle and pirate ship. There’s also a motorcycle, cannon, and airplane. The play feature is mainly the catapults that launch the birds to their targets pretty much similar to the game.

Earlier today, there was an interesting find from Brick Heroes. As I mentioned earlier this year, there will be a new LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes set coming out next year called the Classic TV Series Batcave (76052). LEGO already did a teaser of what we can expect in the set with the Adam West Batman minifigure and the hopefully the 1960s Batmobile.
Well there’s now an image of what appears to be Otto Preminger’s Mr. Freeze minifigure floating around which come from a certain factory. For reasons, I won’t post the image but I’m still allowed to talk about it and all I’ll say about it is that it looks remarkably accurate like Mr. Freeze from the TV series as seen above. More details as they come.
LEGO has been slowly uploading the new 2016 sets to their servers and the latest set that we haven’t seen before is the LEGO Star Wars Homing Spider Droid (75142). The set contains 310 pieces and is pretty similar to previous incarnation of the set in 75016. This one includes minifigures of Yoda, an Elite Corps Clone Trooper, and two Battle Droids. Check out the rest of the LEGO Star Wars winter 2016 wave sets over on my previous post.

Today I have a short review of the LEGO December 2015 Christmas Tree Ornament (5003083). It was only available for a week with purchases of $50 or more at LEGO Brand stores and on Shop@Home. This is the second year that LEGO has done this particular promotion with last year being the Christmas Train (5002813) and this one comes in at 32 pieces.
Like with the previous one, it does come in a resealable packaging with protects the inner fabric bag that holds the set. The tree itself is pretty simple with the usual building techniques of stacking the sloped pieces. There are some printed pieces like the envelope tile as well as the 2015 tile which is exclusive to the ornament. At the top, you have the Technic axle connector which allows you to tie the gold cord to hang it up.
Overall, it’s a pretty nice little exclusive that LEGO has included with their promo and I hope that it continues next year as well. If you missed out on it, the parts are very common minus the 2015 1×2 tile and the cord that LEGO has included. The instructions are below if you want to make your own.
