Expo LUG Brasil 2015 Happening This Weekend

Expo LUG Brasil 2015

The folks over at LUG Brasil has asked me to help promote the Expo LUG Brasil 2015 this weekend and I know I have some readers who are from that area that may be interested in attending. It will be happening November 7 and 8 and entrance to the expo is free.

The EXPO LUG Brasil 2015 is an exhibition with creations made with LEGO® pieces, built by LUG Brasil members. This is the 5th edition of the event, that has free admission and has more than 20 different themes in an area of over 1.000m² with around 60 exhibitors.

New LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu Image Revealed

LEGO Ninjago Skybound

Earlier today, the LEGO Ninjago Facebook Page posted a new image of what we can expect in 2016 for LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu with the animated series and sets. As you can see, the Ninjas are indeed going up against a band of Pirates as was teased back at San Diego Comic Con. You can see some of the Pirates including the main villain Nadakhan who is a Djinn that wants to turn people’s wishes into nightmares.

There are also some set descriptions for the sets that will be coming out in the beginning of the year.

The Jetsons Coming to LEGO Dimensions?

LEGO Dimensions The Jetsons

Here’s some interesting LEGO Dimensions news that may provide hints to future expansion packs. One of my followers on Twitter tweeted out the image above to me a few hours when they were playing the game. They were using the TARDIS and the Simpsons Level Pack but the most noticable thing is the setting. If you’ve ever watched The Jetsons before, you would know that the building in the background shows the Little Dipper School where Elroy Jetson attends for space history, astrophysics and star geometry.

Could this mean that The Jetsons will be making an appearance in LEGO Dimensions sometime in the future? Given that LEGO has a license deal for Scooby-Doo sets which is part the Hanna-Barbera as is the Jetsons, it does suggest we might see the family in some way in the future. What do you guys think?

Update: Apparently Bedrock from the Flintstones also make an appearance as well. You can check that out starting at 3:00 in the video below.

LEGO Nexo Knights Knight’s Cycle (30371) Polybag Found

LEGO Nexo Knights Knight's Cycle (30371)

Even though the new LEGO Nexo Knights sets won’t be released until January, we have a first look at one of the polybags that will go with the theme, the Knight’s Cycle (30371). The image was provided by our friend CM4Sci over on Eurobricks. The polybag consists of a Royal Soldier who wields a lance and rides a futuristic looking bike with stud shooters. It looks very reminiscent to jousting so if you have a couple of these polybags, you can make your own Nexo Knights jousting scene.

There’s no mentioning of how to obtain the Knight’s Cycle but I have a feeling that it’ll either be part of a LEGO promotion or sold at retailers like Target or Toys R Us.

Doctor Who To Make Appearance in The LEGO Movie 2?

LEGO Dimensions Doctor Who

Doctor Who has made an immediate impact in the LEGO world this year with its appearance in LEGO Dimensions and in the upcoming LEGO Ideas (21304) set. io9 is reporting that Warner Bros. is in negotiations with BBC for the Doctor to make an appearance in The LEGO Movie 2.

Director Rob Schrab dropped that teaseer on the Harmontown Podcast but that was pretty much it. Although there wasn’t more information about this, it sounds like the Doctor will be making a cameo appearance like Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Lando did in the first movie.

The LEGO Movie 2 won’t be out until 2018 so there’s still a few years to see if he will actually be in the movie or not. Who knows, maybe we’ll see some other collaboration between LEGO and Doctor Who between then.

LEGO Ideas Beatles Yellow Submarine Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Beatles Yellow Submarine by kevinszeto is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project is based on the Beatles’ tenth studio album which was the soundtrack for the animated film of the same name. The set contains 409 pieces and also contains minifigures of the four members of the band.

The Yellow Submarine now joins the Jurassic Park Explorer, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Nautilus, and the Toyota Landcruiser 40 Series as the projects that qualify for the Third 2015 Review Stage.

Ralph Fiennes to Voice Alfred in The LEGO Batman Movie

Earlier today while I was work, I saw that The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the spinoff The LEGO Batman Movie has signed Ralph Fiennes to voice Alfred Pennyworth. Fiennes, most known for his portrayal of Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter films, now joins Will Arnett, Michael Cera, and Rosario Dawson as the people who will voice Batman, Robin, and Batgirl, respectively. Zach Galifianakis is still in negotiations to voice the Joker.
