If you were on social media this past Valentine’s Day, you may have seen the image above of the Clockwork Heart by LEGO builder Jason Allemann, aka JK Brickworks. If you want to make your own, he has posted the instructions as well as the parts list for everyone to enjoy.
Jason has been prolific in building models that are very impressive, to say the least, with many of which can be motorized to make it even more impressive. If Jason sounds familiar, that’s because his Labyrinth Marble Maze was chosen to be the next LEGO Ideas set which was teased by LEGO just yesterday. Check out his website to see more of his MOCs.

The 2016 New York Toy Fair is over and done and after that, there were also the Toy of the Year awards given out to the best toys from last year. Not surprisingly, LEGO was again in the running for some awards including winning the “Boy Toy of the Year” for the LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Millennium Falcon (75105) which was the best toy developed specifically for boys of any age. If you haven’t checked out my in-depth review of it, you can read it here.
LEGO was also nominated for “Game of the Year” with LEGO Dimensions but lost out to the popular party Pie Face Game. Note that LEGO Dimensions was the only non-tradional tabletop game in the category.
Finally, Star Wars won “Property of the Year” for the licensor with the greatest success spreading its brand or property throughout the industry while generating interest and excitement. Obviously LEGO had some impact with the brand winning with all of the various LEGO Star Wars sets we got last year, especially with The Force Awakens sets.
LEGO had been in the running for various Toy of the Year awards in every year since the awards have been given out in 2000 and I won’t be surprised if they make the list again next year.
LEGO has posted a teaser image of the Labyrinth Marble Maze (21305) set over on their Facebook Page and other social media pages. This probably means that we should be getting the official reveal any time now even though it seems like we’ve been waiting forever for it. It’ll be available on April 1st and we already know the details of the set like it having 769 pieces and will retail for $69.99. Rumor has it that it’ll look very similar to the LEGO Ideas project with very small changes. Stay tuned for the reveal.
If you missed the 6 minute pilot episode of LEGO Star Wars: The Resistance Rises – Poe to the Rescue, Disney XD has already uploaded the episode on their YouTube channel. As usual, there’s the humor that these animated shows have. There will be more episodes in the future and they will be announced in due time. Check out the episode below.
With the help of C-3PO and BB-8, pilot Poe Dameron devises a plan to rescue of one of the Resistance’s most important leaders, Admiral Ackbar, from Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma.
Last month, we first saw an image of the new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man vs. The Venon Symbiote (30448) polybag show up online. Fellow reader Joseph H. has recently emailed in letting me know that he has found the polybag at LEGOLAND Florida. I assume this polybag will be more widely available at other retailers later this year and possibly be at Walmart as a stocking stuffer during the holiday season.
Along with this polybag, he has also found the LEGO City Fire Car (30347), the LEGO Nexo Knights The Lava Slinger (30347), and the LEGO Ninjago Kai’s Mini Dragon (30422) there. If you’re searching for these polybags, you may want to check out LEGOLAND Florida or California and Discovery Centers so see if they have any.
